Do they sound as a flamenco band? More than any other genre, of course. But their music stands at the crossroad of the most heterodox sounds. Their roots are flamenco, but they add echoes of the gypsy and the latin and most of all, the Mediterranean.
The young catalan cantaora Alba Carmona (known for her work with Chano Domínguez, Perico Sambeat and film director Carlos Saura) is joined by the german born Lisa Bause on the violin (and occasional accordion) and on the guitars by the sevillian Marta Robles and the french Isabelle Laudenbach. The show presents the band accompanied by José López on the bass and Manuel Masaedo on the percussion.
Before the incorporation of Alba Carmona, the voice of the band was Sílvia Pérez Cruz, a founder member of the band in 2004. This last July Silvia left to focus on her first solo album.
May 2010 Las Migas released "Reinas del Matute" (Nuevos Medios) so far their only album. They did it with the acclaimed producer from the "indie-pop" scene, Raül Fernández "Refree". They are working now on their most awaited second album with the repertoire that they are presenting on stage.
Feminine and plural, Las Migas don't give up their very singular identity. They amaze audiences with their brand new show and most of all with the new repertoire, more flamenco than ever. Traditional and innovative, Mediterranean and modern, they simply are unique in their sound.

Soñé
Las Migas Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
y soñé, al mismo tiempo, que lo soñaba;
que para un triste,
aun las dichas soñadas son imposibles.
El amor que se oculta bajo el silencio
hace mayor estrago dentro del pecho;
porque sus llamas,
Estribillo
aunque me maten.
The lyrics of "Soñé" by Las Migas describe the rollercoaster of emotions that come with love and longing. The song begins with the singer dreaming that their lover loved them, but at the same time dreaming that they were dreaming it. This expresses the feeling of uncertainty and doubt that often accompanies romantic relationships. The lyrics then touch on the idea that even dreamed happiness can seem impossible for someone who is sad.
The next verse talks about how love that is hidden beneath silence can cause even greater damage to the heart. The flames of love, when unable to find an outlet, burn the soul. This portrays the intense and overwhelming nature of unexpressed emotions.
The chorus suggests that instead of looking at each other and being conscious of the attention they are receiving, they should find a way of not looking at each other. By not acknowledging each other's gaze, they can maintain a sense of privacy and protect themselves from the scrutiny of others. But in moments when they are not being observed, they will allow themselves to look at each other and share that connection.
The verse about jealousy and waves compares these two forces, both capable of creating an illusion of grandeur that is, in reality, fleeting and insubstantial. Just like waves, jealousy can quickly subside when the wind changes.
The final verse speaks of the singer's deep desire for their lover's black eyes, even if they have the power to "kill" them. The line "He de mirarte, y con tal que me miren, aunque me maten" reflects the willingness to endure any pain or risk for the sake of love and the longing for a connection that goes beyond mere existence.
