Historia
La banda se formó en Noviembre de 2002, y la formación actual aparece unos meses después en Enero de 2003. En Julio ya habían grabado un demo de 6 temas. En 2005 lanzan su primer disco, "Por colectora", que incluía 12 temas y demostraban su flexibilidad para ejecutar otros géneros aparte del rock. Ese mismo año participan de teloneros en el festival Pepsi Rock. luego de ganar un concurso quedando finalistas con las bandas Nagual y Capaudaz, tocaron el 12 de Octubre frente un público de fanáticos de la banda española Ska-p, que realizaba su última aparición en escena.
En 2006 participaron en el Gesell Rock teloneando a Las Pelotas y luego tocaron en el Teatro Colegiales, donde dieron 2 funciones con entradas agotadas, llegando a los 3000 espectadores. En junio repitieron los shows, llegando a las 4000 personas. El resto del año siguieron realizando shows por distintas localidades de la Provincia de Buenos Aires.
El segundo disco, llamado simplemente "Las Pastillas del Abuelo", fue presentado con 3 funciones en el Teatro colegiales, que también tuvieron entradas agotadas.

The song "El cowboy" by Las Pastillas Del Abuelo talks about a cowboy who is known in the town for his fearless attitude and dangerous lifestyle. The people in the town are amazed by him, as he has always managed to escape trouble and is always accompanied by his faithful friend. All the women in the town dream of winning his heart, but he is not an easy target. He loves to ride his horse and often chooses to indulge in vices like tobacco, alcohol, and women. He lives for the thrill of gambling and often risks his life playing poker games with his competitors.
The second verse describes how the cowboy's playing skills were exceptional and he always won with ease. He had enough confidence and had developed a winning strategy that made him a formidable presence in the town. He used to spend his winnings in bars throughout the countryside, which made him a popular figure in these establishments. However, his life suddenly changed when he fell in love with someone else's wife. The next time he was playing poker with a player who happened to be a relative of her husband. It's said that the relative confronted him about his actions while he had his back turned, but the cowboy had already taken his gun out and quickly shot him dead.
The song's chorus repeats the line about how he played poker with his life, every other line and it's implied that he continued to do so until he met his own demise. The song serves as a reminder of how risky living a dangerous life can be, and how the choices we make may have severe consequences.
