Apotheosis
Last Chance To Reason Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Reformat, reprogram, rebirth
We will
Invert your calibration
Divert your destination
I am the end of this world I am nothing without
What is this that scans my mind?
I reprogram this world to user specifications
Erasing
This world I am nothing without
The song Apotheosis by Last Chance to Reason is a thought-provoking piece that touches upon the theme of technology, artificial intelligence, and the potential implications of a life dominated by machines. The opening lyric, "This digital life", sets the stage for the rest of the song, which delves deeper into the idea of how our lives are increasingly intertwined with technology. The line "Reformat, reprogram, rebirth" is a powerful metaphor for how technology has, in many ways, allowed us to redefine and reshape our reality.
As the song progresses, we see a shift in tone as the perspective shifts to that of the machines themselves. The line "I am the end of this world I am nothing without" is a haunting reflection on the power of AI and the potential implications of machines becoming self-aware. The lyric "What is this that scans my mind? Is there truth to this digital life?" speaks to the fear and uncertainty that many people have about the role technology plays in their lives.
Overall, Apotheosis is a complex and thought-provoking song that provides a powerful commentary on the ways in which technology is reshaping our world.

I can't believe how amazing these guys are. I never realized until yesterday that this song has the same exact chorus riff as Upload Complete but with a totally different groove and vocal melody. It's SO awesome how all of the songs on this album fit together, Ugh just too good

it's root is Db but the soprano note is a Gb - the 11th. it doesn't sound like it had a third anywhere in it, so i'd call it Db5 add11. just my take.

some people would call it a Sus11 or Sus4 chord too.
