To break me in two,
You ain't got the soul
To run it like I do,
You ain't got the will
Now the toll is over due,
I'm talking to you
Hey, I'm talking to you
I'm so high, calling
Make me a star
Starmaker
Cause you've always been a giver
Not a taker
But in our hearts
The stars break us
And they never let you go
Even when you leave your mark
Starmaker
Oh god they don't know, I know I'm bleeding
Don't sell me the dream cause you I just don't need it
I've lost it all
Fall right back again
I owe it all to you
I owe it all to you
I'm so high, calling calling
Make me a star
Starmaker
Cause you've always been a giver
Not a taker
But in our hearts
The stars break us
And they never let you go
Even when you leave your mark
Starmaker

The lyrics to Last In Line's song Starmaker can be interpreted to describe the pursuit of fame and success. The singer of the song is addressing someone who they believe does not have what it takes to achieve success in the same way that they do. The singer implies that they are willing to do whatever it takes to become a star, even if it means sacrificing their own well-being. The lyrics suggest a sense of desperation in the singer's desire for success, as they turn to someone else to make them a star.
Despite this, the song also acknowledges the darker side of fame. The chorus refers to the idea that the stars themselves can break those who pursue them. While the singer may be eager to become a star, they are also aware of the potential consequences of such a pursuit. They may lose themselves in the process, becoming a different person once they achieve fame.
Overall, the lyrics to Starmaker can be read as a reflection on the price of success and the risks that come with pursuing it.
