Apologize
Last Vegas Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well you know my game
Dirty like my name
And you're an angel
You're perfection in every way
Say I'm a bad man
The one that make you so sad
I'm the first one to agree
I'm getting out of hand
But I want you to know
That no matter how this goes
You're the only thing
Really you're my only thing

Every time I come home late
Every time I made you wait
Every time you lie awake
And you swore my name
For my bad mistake
Every time I lie to you
I wish I would'a told the truth

For all of those time
I apologize to you
To you

I come from the hard life
I want to make it out right
You're the one that turns my darkness into light
When I string you along
You always were so strong
You opened up my eyes
I used to be so blind
But I want you to know
That no matter how this goes
Are you listening?
Tell me are you listening?

Every time I come home late
Every time I come home late
Every time I made you wait
Every time you lie awake
And you swore my name
For my bad mistake
Every time I lie to you
I wish I would'a told the truth

For all of those time I apologize to you
To you

Every time I kiss your lips it drives me crazy
Beautiful, beautiful yeahhh

Every time I come home late
Every time I made you wait
Every time you lie awake
And you swore my name
For my bad mistake
Every time I lie to you
I wish I would'a told the truth

For all of those time I apologize to you
To you

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Last Vegas’s song Apologize convey a message of apology to a lover who has suffered numerous times as a result of the singer’s dark lifestyle. The song starts by comparing the singer’s dirty reputation to that of his partner's perfection in every way, expressing the guilt felt by the singer for causing her pain. The singer acknowledges that he’s a bad man and he’s been getting out of hand, but the only thing he wants his lover to know is that she’s his only redemption. This is articulated in the chorus of the song, where the singer expresses his remorse for every time he made her wait, lied to her or made her swear his name for a mistake he made.

Interestingly, the song also acknowledges the power dynamic in the relationship between the singer and his lover, with the latter being portrayed as the stronger and more mature partner. The song suggests that it's the woman who turns the singer's darkness into light and that the singer acknowledges this. This is highlighted when the singer says, "When I string you along, you always were so strong. You opened up my eyes, I used to be so blind." Through these lyrics, the song emphasizes that it’s only through the love of his partner that the singer can escape his dark past and live a life free of regret.

Overall, ‘Apologize’ is a poignant song that emphasizes the importance of genuine remorse and acknowledging the role of self-inflicted pain in relationships. The song emphasizes the healing power of love and the importance of taking responsibility for one's mistakes to improve the relationship.

PEACEMAKER!!! Ashow as a 48 year old man, to be honest I DID NOT WANT to watch! But after 2 episodes, I was hooked. And my 13 year old son would spend time with me AWAY FROM HIS X-BOX ( I know, God FORBIDE!!!) AND he got me into this show and would make the popcorn, or grab our snacks and spend about an hour on the couch each week, along with mom most of the time!!! All because of this show, so thank you to the creators, and all of the actors who just ALL knocked it out of the park. ESPECIALLY with the music. As you can tell from my age, these songs played a big part in my life when I was younger, (Faster Pussycat, Poison and so on...all but this last one of course, which is a song that could've EASILY came from the 80's/90's by the sound of it) so, thank you for allowing me and my son to spend some quality time together, which is just seems to be harder and harder to do THESE DAYS!!! P.S. Just looked, and seen this show for the SEASON has a 95% on Rotten Tomatoes, 89% on Google!!! I really hope they take a cue from the fans and make a season 2, WITHOUT changing the foundation and substance of the show, as producers seem to like to do. Leave it alone, it's got the perfect mixture of old age stuff for my generation and new age stuff for all new generation, and is plenty P.C. for all the WOKE generation. Just my thoughts, but what do I know? Once again, thank you to peacemaker, and it's entire staff!!!!
P.S.S. Sorry, I forgot to mention it, but my son WOULD NOT start the episode WITHOUT ME!!! He made sure we was TOGETHER when we watched EVERY MINUTE of PEACEMAKER!!! Thanks buddy, and Love you too P.

Same man, I'm 22 my dad is 52 we watched every episode together for someone who is into shows like the blacklist and so on, he really enjoyed it. To think we were watching john cena in wwe when i was a boy now we're watching him 15 years later, amazing

@joshuagoldfarb6041

@@cdcarelse796 I replied to the original comment as well but did not mention that I also watched the show with my 51 year old dad, I watched the first episodes without him, but when he caught up we finished the series together. He also really likes blacklist, in fact he watched that show with my brother. But yeah, for reference I'm 17(Which is just so weird because younger me would have thought at this age I'm so old but, I still feel super young.) Anyways, so cool all of us have this common experience!
