Love To Keep Me Warm
Laufey & dodie Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
So the two of us can get together
There's nothing sweeter, finer
When it's nice and cold
I can hold my baby closer to me
And collect the kisses that are due me
I love the winter weather
'Cause I got my love to keep me warm
I love the winter weather
So the two of us can get together
There's nothing sweeter, finer
When it's nice and cold
I can hold my baby closer to me
And collect the kisses that are due me
I love the winter weather
'Cause I got my love to keep me warm
Winter's upon us, so won't you stay?
With me from Christmas to New Year's Day
Don't leave me alone (I won't)
Let's light a fire and let it snow
I love the winter weather
So the two of us can get together
There's nothing sweeter, finer
When it's nice and cold
I can hold my baby closer to me (to me)
And collect the kisses that are due me
I love the winter (winter) weather (weather)
'Cause I got my love to keep me warm
'Cause I got my love to keep me warm
'Cause I got my love to keep me warm

@Musicallison
Huh they have surprisingly similar voices. I think its the after effect of their timbres but Laufey definitely has the deeper voice of the 2

At the beginning of the song, when Laufey sings "weather" and "together", It does sound deep, but I think it only sounds deep in her voice because her register is higher. When dodie sings the same notes, they sound natural. I don't have much experience with Laufey, but I know dodie has an incredibly deep register, so I think hers is deeper. Unless you meant deeper as in more meaningful lol

@@tonythetiger5029 maybe she meant “deep” as in a deep timbre, not necessarily a lower pitch
@Musicallison
@@everyonesaidmynamewasstupi3713 Yeah that’s what I meant but it was a good point

Also dodie has a litle more of a nasal voice
@laura_rovetti
just heavenly, expected nothing less from this iconic duo

Great vibe. Almost a throwback in style to the best of the late 1940s jazz. Beautiful voices and really outstanding instumental support for the vocalists. It blends really well.
