Blessings
Laura Story Lyrics

We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
And all the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love is way too much to give us lesser things
'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears?
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
And all the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears?
And what if the thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise?

When friends betray us
And when darkness seems to win
We know that pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home
It's not our home

'Cause what if your blessings come through raindrops?
What if Your healing comes through tears?
And what if the thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You're near?

What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can't satisfy
And what if trials of this life

The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise?

Overall Meaning

In Laura Story's song Blessings, she explores the complex relationship humans have with God and the difficulties that arise in our faith when we experience suffering and pain. The song speaks about how we pray for blessings, peace, comfort, and healing, and even though God hears each spoken need, sometimes His love is greater than to just give us the small things we ask for. Through the lyrics, the artist asks what if God's blessings come in ways that we don't expect or ask for, such as raindrops, tears, or sleepless nights, and what if the trials of life are His mercies in disguise?

The first verse sets up the song's introspective and questioning tone with a list of things that we pray for from God. The second verse addresses the doubts and anger that humans feel towards God when we cannot feel Him near us or see the reality of our prayers. In the bridge, the song becomes more concrete, acknowledging the very real pain that comes in life when friends betray us and darkness seems to win. However, even in our suffering, we know that this world is not our home, and that God's blessings and mercies come in ways that we don't expect.

Throughout the song, the artist explores the idea that blessings don't always come in the form of tangible things that we pray for, but instead, God's blessings come in the form of growth and learning from the trials and suffering in life. The song's powerful message is that God's love is complex and vast, and our faith in Him can be strengthened through the storms and tears of life.

My Creator
Elohim –Creator—is used 2, 570 times in the Old Testament
It is the Hebrew word for God used most often, first in Genesis 1 : 1 : ‘’In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
God wad the Creator—the Creator of everything—long before He was our Father.
The name Elohim is always connected to creation and power.
In Exodus 3 : 4 the voice of Elohim spoke from the midst of a bush, calling Moses to lead the children of Israel from captivity.
In Exodus 20 : 3, God commanded His children to have no other gods before Him
Throughout the Bible, the name of God is more than a distinguished title.
The name represents God’s divine nature and relationship to His people.
The various name of God represent Him as Hi is know, and through the name Elohim, He present Himself—His love, power, mercy, and glory—to His creation

Sometimes i think I'm lost in life now, I don't know why😢😢
I don't want to give up😢😢.

Beacause of the emotional pain and trauma of my childhood, i have sleepless nights, bad dreams, losing interests on many things. This drains my life everyday.
I become secretive person.

Before i am soft spoken, but now i am talkaltive (cursing sometimes) .
I felt that I am changing everyday, ruining myself and little bit losing my faith, praying less.
I didn't pray when i woke up, when i eat food etc😢. Although before i did this always.

Thats why i am here listening to this song because i want to regain my faith and don't lose my hope in God and life and to Start again.
Because my life is blessing and this are all trials

Thank you

1 Bless the Lord, O my soul;
And all that is within me, bless His holy name!
2 Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget not all His benefits:
3 Who forgives all your iniquities,
Who heals all your diseases,
4 Who redeems your life from destruction,
Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,
