Lauren started singing lessons at the age of 13, although she started private LAMDA tutorials at the Hinkley Speech and Drama Studio at the age of seven and began her ballet classes at the age of two!
When Lauren was born she had a condition which meant she had to wear two hearing aids. She stunned doctors at the age of 18, however, when her hearing came back to a normal capacity.
She believes that Dorothy has a lot of balls and guts which she says she has - she wants to be a funny Dorothy, with lots of spark. She would also love to put all her training into action in the role. She feels that she is as impulsive as Dorothy is, and that like her, she is constantly striving for bigger and better things.

Never grow up and never face my fears
And what would it be like if I never take
A chance on a choice hard to make
What would it be like to start again
New town New job and make new friends
So why to people think that im being niave
Im getting older and growing wise
so i take a breath and I close my eyes
theres no limit theres no limit to the sky
theres no limit theres no limit to the sky
what would it be like if I came back home
no tears no regrets no I told you so's
and what if i return with my head held high
i made it i stayed it i proved them all wrong
my dad calls me blue sky thinking
my mom thinks the stars in my eyes
but the record will show it each time I grow theres no limit
theres no limit to the sky
theres no limit theres no limit to the sky
theres a change in the air that tells me to dare
let the tree be the wind on my wings
theres a change in the air that tells me to dare
let the tree be the wind on my wings
my dad calls me blue sky thinking
my mom thinks the stars in my eyes
but the record will show it each time I grow theres no limit
theres no limit
theres no limit to the sky
theres no limit
theres no limit to the sky
so imagine my life in five years time
did i stay right here or did i learn to climb
im gettting older and growing wise
so i take a breath and i close my eyes
i can make it
i can take it
i can prove them all wrong
my dad calls me blue sky thinking
my mom thinks the stars in my eyes
but the record will show it each time I grow theres no limit
theres no limit to the sky
theres no limit to the sky
theres
theres no limit to the sky
theres no limit
In Lauren Samuels's song "Blue Sky Thinking," the lyrics explore the idea of taking risks and embracing change. The singer questions what their life would be like if they stayed in their current situation, never growing up or facing their fears. They also contemplate what it would be like to start over in a new town with a new job and new friends. Despite concerns from others that they may be naive or reckless, the singer decides to take a chance and embrace the unknown. As they mature and gain wisdom, they recognize that there are no limits and that they have the power to prove doubters wrong.
The chorus highlights the idea that the sky is the limit and that there are no boundaries to what the singer can achieve. They are determined to take control of their own destiny and push themselves to reach their full potential. The final verse asks the listener to imagine their life in five years and question whether they stayed in the same place or grew and climbed to new heights.
Overall, "Blue Sky Thinking" encourages listeners to embrace change and take risks, no matter how daunting it may seem. The song inspires individuals to pursue their dreams and reminds them that there are no limits to what they can achieve.
