Hijo de Rubén Larregui del Toro. A los 21 años empezó a estudiar la carrera de Licenciatura en Artes Plásticas en La Esmeralda. Para aquel entonces, trabajaba como animador gráfico, además de estar involucrado en el arte de muchas películas en ese periodo. Sin embargo, el mismo afirma que las ganancias económicas eran muy pocas, por tanto, tuvo que ser modelo de Armani y actuar en varios videos, tal es el caso de la canción "Se Quiere, Se Mata" de la artista colombiana Shakira para que la banda siguiese subsistiendo. León Larregui creó la banda junto con Sergio Acosta en noviembre de 1997, después de 15 años en la banda decide lanzarse como solista, pero él mismo señaló que la banda no se separaría y que su carrera como solista sería totalmente distinta a lo que hace en Zoé, esto, para no hacer competencia con su banda.
