Don't Let Go
Lea Michele Lyrics

I waited so long to hold your hand
Familiar rode, helpless, just acting stupid like kids
Was so distracted, yeah we've been careless
It's not too late
Baby open your eyes and hold on tight
Just keep running and we can stay up all night
Don't let go
Flying high as a kite no ground below
Got me up in the sky running don't let go
Don't let go
Don't let go
Sometimes the notions freight
Like tiny little heart breaks
Something that can't explain
Just writing stupid lie kids
I'm so impatient and yet so reckless
It's not too late
Baby open your eyes and hold on tight
Just keep running and we can stay up all night
Don't let go
Don't let go
Flying high as a kite no ground below
Got me up in the sky running don't let go
Don't let go
Don't let go
I know you pull, pull, pull on each other
Sometimes we spin spin out of control
But there's a string holding us together
Just gotta catch that and here we go
Baby open your eyes and hold on tight
Just keep running and we can stay up all night
Don't let go
Don't let go
Flying high as a kite no ground below
Got me up in the sky running don't let go
Don't let go
Don't let go
I know you pull, pull, pull on each other
Sometimes we spin spin, yeah
I know you pull, pull, pull on each other
Sometimes we spin spin, yeah
I know you pull, pull, pull on each other
Sometimes we spin spin, yeah
The lyrics to Lea Michele's song, Don't Let Go, tell the story of two people in love, but struggling to stay grounded. The first stanza describes their carelessness and distraction, which may have caused them to overlook or take for granted their love for each other. Despite this, the singer urges their partner to keep holding on tight and keep running with them, saying that it's not too late to fix things. They are determined to stay together and not let go, even if they are flying high without the ground below.
The second verse continues in the same vein, lamenting the slight heartbreaks and misunderstandings that seem to plague their relationship. Despite their impatience and recklessness, they acknowledge that there's a string holding them together and they only need to catch it to keep going. Towards the end, the lyrics repeat the phrase "I know you pull, pull, pull on each other, sometimes we spin spin," highlighting the cyclical nature of difficulties in a relationship. However, the singer remains hopeful that they can overcome these spins and pulls together, as long as they hold on and don't let go.
