In 2004, Michele played "Shprintze" and "Chava" in the Broadway revival of the musical Fiddler on the Roof. Regionally, she has appeared in the title role in The Diary of Anne Frank.
Since the age of 14, she played the role of Wendla in Steven Sater and Duncan Sheik's musical version of Spring Awakening since early workshops; following it up to the Broadway production. Around the same time the show was set to go to Broadway, she was given the role of Eponine in the Broadway revival of Les Misérables. She chose to remain with Spring Awakening, which debuted on Broadway December 10, 2006. Michele was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for her performance in Spring Awakening, as Lead Actress in a Musical.
On May 18, 2008, Michele left Spring Awakening with co-star Jonathan Groff and was replaced by former Wendla understudy Alexandra Socha. She performed in a reading of Sheik and Sater's new musical, Nero, in July 2008 at Vassar College, also featuring Idina Menzel and Michael Arden. On August 8, 9 and 10, 2008, Michele portrayed Eponine in the Hollywood Bowl's Les Misérables concert.
Michele can be heard on the original Broadway cast recordings of Ragtime and Spring Awakening, as well as the 2003 revival recording of Fiddler on the Roof.
Michele starred in the Fox television show Glee, where she played the star female singer of a high school glee club, Rachel Berry. The pilot aired on May 19, 2009, and the show aired on Thursday nights on FOX. The show ended after 6 seasons on March 20, 2015.
Lea Michele will be making her public debut as Fanny Brice in Broadway’s Funny Girl on September 6th, 2022

Step into the light
This could be the moment
Are you ready to fight?
Don't you know, you know
You're not the only one
Why so low, so low
What are you waiting for
All I ever hear are whispers
But I just wanna hear your voice
Don't be afraid
Why don't you scream a little louder
Turn it up
I know you can
Come on and scream a little louder
Oh, oh-hoh, oh-hoh,
Why don't you scream a little louder
Oh, oh-hoh, oh-hoh,
Why don't you scream a little louder
Wanna be remembered?
Stand out of the crowd
Don't choke on the fire
It's tryin' to burn you out
Why so low, so low
What are you waiting for
All I ever hear are whispers
All I ever hear are whispers
But I just wanna hear your voice
Don't be afraid
Why don't you scream a little louder
Turn it up
I know you can
Come on and scream a little louder
Oh, oh-hoh, oh-hoh,
Why don't you scream a little louder
Oh, oh-hoh, oh-hoh,
Why don't you scream a little louder
Come out of the shadow
Step into the light
This could be the moment
It could change your life
All I ever hear are whispers
But I just wanna hear your voice
Don't be afraid
Why don't you scream a little louder
Turn it up
I know you can
Come on and scream a little louder
Oh, oh-hoh, oh-hoh,
Why don't you scream a little louder
Turn it up
I know you can
Why don't you scream a little louder
Oh, oh-hoh, oh-hoh,
Why don't you scream a little louder
In Lea Michele's song "Louder," the singer is encouraging someone to come out of their shell and show their true self to the world. The lyrics suggest that this could be a life-changing moment for the person in question, and that they should not be afraid to express themselves. The phrase "step into the light" is a metaphor for coming out of the shadows and being seen for who you really are. When the singer says "this could be the moment, are you ready to fight?" it shows that this is a crucial moment that can either make or break someone's confidence.
The chorus of the song is the most powerful part, with the singer urging the person to "scream a little louder" and "turn it up." This is a metaphor for expressing oneself and not being afraid to be heard. The singer reminds the person that they are not alone and that they should not be held back by their fears. The phrases "don't choke on the fire, it's trying to burn you out" suggest that the person may be holding back due to fear or anxiety, but they need to overcome these negative feelings and let their light shine.
Overall, "Louder" is a song about self-expression, confidence, and embracing who you truly are. It encourages listeners to step out of their comfort zone, be heard, and not let their fears hold them back.

Can we all just take a second to think about the fact that this lyric video is actually probably the most well-made, high quality video you are ever going to see. Like, congratulations because I can't be the only one who is SICK of bad quality lyric videos. I mean:
- the music is good quality and it isn't too LOUD(er)
- a large amount of time was obviously put into it
- it looks pretty
- there aren't any spelling errors
- the transitions are smooth and stylish and quick
Like what else can you ask for in a lyric video?
Thank you!
