Ramble On
Led Zepagain Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Leaves are falling all around
Time I was on my way
Thanks to you, I'm much obliged
Such a pleasant stay
But now it's time for me to go
But now I smell the rain and with a pain
And it's headed my way
Ah, sometimes I grow so tired
But I know about a thing I got to do
Rambling on, now's the time, the time is now
Rambling on, I'm goin' 'round the world, I got to find my girl
On my way, oh, I've been this way ten years to the day
Rambling on, I gotta find the queen of all my dreams
I got no time to spread up roots
The time has come to be gone
And though I've heard feet drag a thousand times
It's time to ramble on
Rambling on, now's the time, the time is now
Rambling on, I'm goin' 'round the world, had to find my girl
On my way, oh, been this way ten years to the day
Rambling on, I gotta find the queen of all my dreams
Mine's a tale that can't be told
My freedom, I hold dear
Thousand years ago in days of old
When magic filled the air
'Cause in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair
But Gollum, the evil one
Crept up and slipped away with her, her, her, yeah
And there's nothing I can do, no
Rambling on, now's the time, the time is now
Rambling on, I'm goin' 'round the world, got to find my girl
On my way, oh, I've been this way ten years to the day
Rambling on, I gotta find the queen of all my dreams
Rambling on, oh, rambling on
Rambling on, oh, rambling on
Rambling on, oh, rambling on
"Ramble On" by Led Zepagain is a song about travel, adventure, and the search for love. The opening lyrics set the tone for the song: "Leaves are falling all around, time I was on my way." The singer has been on a journey and is now ready to move on to the next adventure. The lyrics "But now it's time for me to go, the autumn moon lights my way" signify that it is time to move on to the next adventure.
The second verse talks about the singer's wanderlust and his pursuit of a woman he has fallen for. He has been on this journey for ten years, but he is not ready to settle down. The lyrics "I got no time to spread up roots, the time has come to be gone" reinforce the idea that the singer is a free spirit and cannot be tied down.
The final verse has a Tolkien reference - "in the darkest depths of Mordor, I met a girl so fair." The singer describes the girl he met as "the queen of all my dreams," indicating that he is still searching for her. The song ends with the repetition of "rambling on," which suggests that the singer is not done with his search for adventure.

JP
not much of a secret - he was so awesome - he and Bonham together were such an important part of their sound
kenny anders
It seems like he gets very little credit, I guess he does not have the sexy place like vocals or guitar.

Few of the comments here pay homage to Jason Bonham.
How hard and how beautiful must it be for him, to immortalise his father's legacy?
Anyone whose father has been revered, deserves respect for even trying to walk a mile in those shoes ... Jason not only does it - but does it brilliantly, almost seamlessly ...

cannot agree more. my family is full of high profile artists, and I paddled my boat as far away as I could, as I was so much frightened by the prospect of trying to get into their footsteps and get nowhere near. i admire people who has the capacity to do it, and succeed so much. fantastic drumming !
