Love Me Like a Hurricane
Led Zeppelin Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You know it hurts so much
C'mon and please me
You know I need your tender touch

Love me like a hurricane
And then you start to ( ? )
You tell me that you'll come on over
Then you say you won't
Love me like a hurricane
And then you start to ( ? )
I'll give it to you straight right now

Please

Oh please don't tease me
You know it hurts so much
C'mon and squeeze me
You know I need your tender touch

Tell me that you love me babe
Then you say you don't

You tell me that you'll come on over
Then you say you won't

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Love Me Like a Hurricane by Led Zeppelin are about the pain of unrequited love. The singer is pleading with their lover to show them affection, to love them like a hurricane. However, their lover is playing games with their emotions, telling them they love them one minute and rejecting them the next. The singer begs their lover not to tease them, as it hurts so much. They need their lover's touch and affection, but they are left confused by their mixed signals.

The singer's plea for their lover's affection is highlighted by the powerful metaphor of a hurricane. A hurricane is an intense, destructive force that can cause significant damage in its path. In contrast, the singer desires the intensity of their lover's affection which, like a hurricane, can cause chaos but also provide release. The lyrics suggest that the emotions are so strong that they are causing turmoil within the singer's mind and heart.

Overall, the lyrics of Love Me Like a Hurricane convey the intense pain of unrequited love, the confusion caused by mixed signals, and the desire for intense affection that can provide release from that turmoil.

Some clarification.....This song is actually called "Please don't Tease". It's a cover of a Cliff Richard and the Shadows tune from the 50's.......There are numerous versions here on YouTube........watch?v=Ca3CPoIE-04
