I've Had It

Hush now
Don't you cry
Wipe your tears on your pillow tonight
And I know that you've been hurt
And it feels like nothing will work
You had a love you thought was true
In this life
The lesson you've learned
Play with fire you're gonna get burned
I've had it and you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it
I've had it and now you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it
Oooh
Look now
Don't put it down
inaudible
In this life
The lesson you've learned
Play with fire you're gonna get burned
I've had it and you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it
I've had it, now you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it
Ooh
I've had it and you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it
I've had it, now you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it
I've had it and you've got it
Now the whole world is talking about it"
The lyrics of "I've Had It" by Lee Andrews and The Hearts express a sense of resilience and empowerment in the face of heartbreak and betrayal. The singer acknowledges the pain and tears the listener has experienced but encourages them not to dwell on it and instead find solace in their own strength and ability to move forward. The words "Hush now, Don't you cry, Wipe your tears on your pillow tonight" convey a comforting message to the listener, urging them to find peace in the midst of their emotional turmoil.
The song delves into the theme of heartbreak and betrayal, as the singer empathizes with the listener's experience of being hurt by someone they believed to be true and genuine. The line "You had a love you thought was true, She broke your heart and made a fool out of you" encapsulates the pain of being deceived and let down by someone they trusted. The lyrics highlight the universal experience of feeling betrayed and humiliated in a romantic relationship, resonating with listeners who may have gone through similar experiences.
The chorus of the song serves as a bold declaration of standing up against adversity and reclaiming one's power. The repeated lines "I've had it and you've got it, Now the whole world is talking about it" suggest a sense of defiance and confidence in the face of gossip and negativity. By asserting that they have had enough and implying that the listener now holds the same strength, the lyrics celebrate resilience and the ability to rise above challenges and criticisms.
The overall message of the song seems to revolve around the idea of learning from one's hardships and not allowing past pain to define one's future. The repeated warning "Play with fire you're gonna get burned" serves as a cautionary tale about the consequences of being reckless in love and relationships. Through its anthemic and empowering lyrics, "I've Had It" by Lee Andrews and The Hearts encourages listeners to find strength in their resilience, embrace their inner power, and rise above adversity with confidence and courage.
