Follow You
Leeland & Brandon Heath Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

You live among the least of these
The weary and the weak
And it would be a tragedy
For me to turn away

All my needs You have supplied
When I was dead You gave me life
So how could I not give it away so freely?
And I'll

Follow You into the homes of the broken
Follow You into the world
Meet the needs for the poor and the needy God
Follow You into the world

Use my hands use my feet
To make Your kingdom come

To the corners of the earth
Until Your work is done

Faith without works is dead
On the cross Your blood was shed
So how could we not give it away so freely?

Follow You into the homes of the broken
Follow You into the world oh
Meet the needs for the poor and the needy God
Follow You into the world yeah

Follow You into the homes of the broken
Follow You into the world oh
Meet the needs for the poor and the needy God
Follow You into the world yeah

And I give all myself, I give all myself
I give all myself to You

And I give all myself, I give all myself
I give all myself to You

Yeah

Follow You into the homes of the broken
Follow You into the world (Follow YOU)
Meet the needs for the poor and the needy God
Follow You into the world

Follow You into the homes of the broken

Follow You into the world
Meet the needs for the poor and the needy God

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Leeland Featuring Brandon Heath's song Follow You convey a powerful message about the importance of serving others, particularly those who are vulnerable and marginalized. The opening lines recognize Jesus' own ministry among the least of these, conveying a sense of urgency and calling for the listener to follow in his footsteps. The next stanza expresses gratitude for God's provision and salvation while emphasizing the responsibility to give back to others. The chorus then repeats the refrain of following Jesus into the world and meeting people's needs.

The bridge of the song emphasizes the importance of actions, not just words or beliefs. It references a biblical verse about the connection between faith and works, highlighting that true faith involves not only belief but also tangible efforts to serve others. The closing lines express a commitment to give all of oneself to Jesus, which includes serving others and working towards the kingdom of God being realized on earth.

Overall, the song is a passionate call to action for Christians to follow Jesus not just in belief but also in service, particularly towards those in need. The lyrics challenge the listener to consider how they can use their hands and feet to make a difference in the world.

Brandon and Leeland should sing more songs together. Their voices harmonize beautifully. Thumbs up if you agree. :-)

My parents we're both missionaries in Mexico.
I grew up helping those in need.
We went to the poorest areas!
They were so grateful and full of joy!
My father was a pastor and he saved many lives!
Those who's faith was destroyed he helped rebuild with the word of God.
He followed and he lead those lost to the right path.
My father is now with God in heaven.

I absolutely love this song! Watching this reminded my why I am enrolled in nursing school: to serve others. I would love to take what I know and help others through medicine and the Word of God. Nursing school is hard, but this video reminded me that I am just a vessel of God called to do His work. Thank you.
