On the road, I'm off again
Another town without you
Was it here, was it there?
Distorted thoughts but I don't care
Another town without you
And I'm sitting all alone
And I'm thinking about you
All the things I should have said
All the things that went away
Cause I'm thinking about you
All this fucking wasted time
All the times you were mine
Always thinking about you
All the things I should have said
All the things that went away
Cause I'm thinking about you
Wasted thoughts I can't find
Distorted thoughts in my mind
Another town without you
Was it here, was it there?
Distorted thoughts but I don't care
Another town without you
Left Alone's "Monday Morning" is a song that perfectly encapsulates the feelings of loneliness and heartbreak. The singer is on the road, driving to another town without the person they love, and they are feeling the pain of being away from them. The chorus repeats the phrase "Another town without you," emphasizing the feeling of missing someone even though they are not physically present. The verse, “A million miles away from home and I’m sitting all alone and I’m thinking about you,” further emphasizes the fact that despite being away from home, the singer is still thinking about their loved one, highlighting the power of memory and the hold that heartbreak has on our minds.
The second verse, “All this fucking wasted time, all the times you were mine,” emphasizes the feeling of regret, as the singer thinks about all the things they wish they had said and done differently when they were with the person they love. The use of profanity highlights the intensity of the emotions and the feeling of being unable to let go. Overall, "Monday Morning" is a poignant reminder of the power of love and heartbreak and the feeling of longing that can be so all-consuming.
