Summer Of '42
Legrand Michel et son Orchestra Lyrics
The summer smiles the summer knows
And un-ashamed, she sheds her clothes
The summer smoothes the restless sky
And lovingly she warms the sand on which you lie
The summer knows the summer's wise
She sees the doubts within your eyes
And so she takes here summer time
Tell the moon to wait and the sun to linger
Let you see the wonder of it all
And if you've learned your lesson well
There's little more for her to tell
One last cares it's time to dress for fall

I can't get thru this without sobbing uncontrollably. My heart actually hurts. It's just so beautiful yet so sad. 🤍💫😔❤🗡

"so beautiful yet so sad" that's absolutely true! It's the perfect musical translation of the emotional mood of the main characte(s) and story really. one would need pages of text to describe what is going on on that boy's heart yet the music says it all. You need a brilliant composer for that. Now hand me the damn tissue please!

@Harmen Westerhof You are so right 🥰

That´s because the best musicians don´t just play notes - they tell a story with their instrument.

I was 20 when this one hit the theatres. That makes me a nostalgic 69. Loved the film and "Windmills of Your Mind". Keep safe and we'll all get through this TOGETHER!
