Tell me all the reasons
Why you made me so sad
I wish that I was like you,
And I'm sorry that I'm not
At least I still have hope,
I guess that's all I've got
Thrilled that I'm not there
Yet I know that I will make it,
Make it good for me out here
And soon I will be smiling,
Everything will be okay
I'll not worry anymore,
That will be my lucky day
I wish that you'd seen something
Special 'bout me too
That you would think of something else,
Not just the way I look to you
I don't see what you see,
How different can I be
And why does it really matter,
I'm just being me
I know you must be happy
Thrilled that I'm not there
Yet I know that I will make it,
Make it good for me out here
And soon I will be smiling,
Everything will be okay
I'll not worry anymore,
That will be my lucky day
The song "My Lucky Day" by Lene Marlin portrays the feeling of rejection and the need for acceptance from others. The lyrics suggest that the singer is hurt because someone has made her feel bad and she wants to know why. She wishes that she could be like the person who hurt her and is sorry for not being able to meet their expectations. The singer acknowledges that she still has hope in her heart and this will help her move on. She wants to reassure herself that she will be happy even without the person who hurt her and she will eventually be able to find her lucky day, free from worry.
The second verse reinforces the idea of rejection, the singer wants to be acknowledged for her unique qualities, not just how she appears to others. She wants to be appreciated for just being herself and not have to change to please others. She is aware that other people's opinions should not dictate who she is and is hopeful that one day she will be able to fully accept herself.
In summary, the song "My Lucky Day" is an emotional reflection on accepting oneself despite others' opinions. The lyrics convey a message of hope and resilience, even in the face of rejection.

Yes, but that`s Lenes choice. She doen`t want all the publicity she got around her first cd.
