Lenka Lyrics

Bringing me something sweet
But why do you have to sting me?
'Cause all my skin is fragile when you're near
But I am feeling numb without you here
So don't you lose your way
Follow the light of day
And let the wind bring you back to me
Oh I'm like a hummingbird
Humming away the hurt
But it won't be long before I fall to the earth
Because oh I'm feeling numb without you here
So don't you lose your way
Follow the light of day
Navigate the radio waves
And let the wind bring you back to me
Do you know you bring me so much pain?
Does the way you show you love me feel the same?
So don't you lose your way
Darling, follow the light of day
Navigate the radio waves
And let the wind bring you back to me
And let the wind bring you back to me
Please let the wind bring you back to me
In Lenka's song "Honeybee", the lyrics describe the emotional turmoil of being in a relationship that brings both sweetness and pain. The metaphor of a honeybee represents the love interest in the song, who brings something sweet but also has the potential to sting. The singer describes feeling fragile and numb when this person is near, but also being unable to let go of their love.
The chorus encourages the love interest not to lose their way and to return to the singer, using metaphors of navigating radio waves and following the light of day. The singer compares herself to a hummingbird, humming away her hurt, but ultimately feeling that she will fall to the earth without her love. The final line of the song pleads for the wind to bring the love interest back.
Overall, the song seems to convey a sense of emotional complexity and conflict in a relationship. The lyrics suggest that love can be both sweet and painful, and that the singer is struggling to navigate these emotions.
