I'm hopin' just to be by your side.
I'm turnin' the handle
It won't open.
Don't make me wait, cause right now I need your smile.
Knock Knock
When life had locked me out, I turned to you
You're all I need right now its true.
Nothin' works like you.
Little louder [Repeat: x3]
Knockin'
Little louder [Repeat: x2]
A warm bath, a good laugh, an old song that you know by heart.
I've tried it but they all leave me cold.
So now I'm here waiting to see you,
My remedy for all that's been hurting me.
Knock Knock
When life had locked me out, I turned to you
So open the door.
You're all I need right now its true.
Nothin' works like you.
You seem to know the way
To turn my frown upside down
You always know what to say
To make me feel like everything?s ok.
Little louder [Repeat: x3]
Knockin' [Repeat: x3]
Little louder [Repeat: x2]
Knock Knock
When life had locked me out, I turned to you
So open the door.
You're all I need right now its true.
Nothin' works like you.
Knock Knock
When life had locked me out, I turned to you
So open the door.
You're all I need right now its true.
Nothin' works like you.
Little louder [Repeat: x3]
Knockin'
Nothin' works like you, oh oh
Little louder [Repeat: x3]
Knockin'
Knock Knock
When life had locked me out, I turned to you
So open the door.
You're all I need right now its true.
Nothin' works like you.
The song "Knock Knock" by Lenka revolves around the theme of seeking comfort and solace from a loved one when life seems to be turning sour. The lyrics express the singer's yearning to be with someone who can lift them up and offer a sense of hope and positivity amidst life's challenges. The chorus "When life had locked me out, I turned to you, so open the door" emphasizes the idea that the person the singer is seeking is the key to a brighter future. The repetition of the phrase "Knock Knock" lends a sense of urgency to the song, underscoring the singer's desperation to be with this person.
The verses describe the various ways the singer has tried to find solace, such as a warm bath, a good laugh or an old song, but they have all fallen short. The singer is no longer content with these superficial comforts and is now seeking something deeper and more meaningful. The lines "You seem to know the way, to turn my frown upside down, you always know what to say, to make me feel like everything's okay" further highlight the importance of this person in the singer's life. They are someone who knows how to make things better and lift the singer's spirits, no matter what.
Overall, "Knock Knock" is a beautifully written song about love, comfort, and hope. It speaks to the power of human connection and the importance of having someone by your side when the going gets tough.
