She began playing piano at a young age and performed her first gig in front of people when she was fifteen. One day, Lennon came home after school to find her mother, her only parent, dead in her closet of an allergic reaction to some pills she had taken. This was just a few days prior to Lennon's eighteenth birthday and Lennon's signing with Arista records. Still, Lennon prevailed, fought for custody of her younger sister Mariella (which she eventually won), and released her debut album, "5:30 Saturday Morning", on September 11, 2001. Her only single from that album was a song called "Brake of Your Car".

Lennon then opened for such bands as Alice Cooper, The Cult, Otep, Mushroomhead and Drowning Pool to name a few.

Lennon later released a strictly acoustic album entitled Career Suicide. It was just Lennon and her piano. Most songs were remakes of songs from 5:30 Saturday Morning but the new ones were also well received. She released it independently on the label John Galt Entertainment, as she had left Arista.

She remained touring including the Girlz Garage tour. She released her third effort, I Am, on different labels in different countries. It is not yet available in the United States.

She is currently working on new songs and touring.

Lennon enjoys watching , Disney's Aladdin, and playing onstage.

Also, her follow up album will not be called "I AM" in the United States but "Damaged Goods".

Lennon Murphy is a very talented singer and songwriter. I love her album "5:30 Saturday Morning". She was screwed over by Arista Records back in 2001 (the album wasn't promoted *AT ALL*) and I sincerely hope that she returns to the public eye very, very soon.

I just did hours of searching to find this video/artist. A thousand dead ends and one that actually led to the source of a blank spot in my mind of a video I had seen a very long time ago. I ended up remembering I had three music videos saved on an old computer of mine. One from Adema ("Giving In"), and one from From Zero ("Check Ya"), and this third mystery video. I ended up tracking down what they had in common, and it happened to be Arista Records. After clicking on every artist I didn't explicitly know on their list of signed artists, I reached Lennon Murphy, and remembered reading her Wiki page so long ago and instantly had a EUREKA moment. This has been a very productive two hours of researching.

I had the same three videos saved for years, had to do all the same searching. I was just going through old cds/dvds and even found the disc they came from. It was a WWF Collector's Edition disc (says Vol 1, 2001 on it). No idea what the disc came with back then, but that's the source. They must have had a deal with Arista back then.

@gtpooh It wasn't stupid of Yoko. Yoko had very good reasons. First off, Murry didn't asked Yoko if she could register under the name Lennon, but she did ask her if was ok that she use Lennon Murry.Which Yoko didn't have problem, but then Murry took off the Murry. It's not uncommon for artist to change their name if there is already someone using the name. Because people also call John by his last name which makes it confusing. And it causes problems for the Lennon family as well.

Awesome, she is gorgeous and this song describes an indescribable feeling~ her passion and emotion really give it a voice even when words fail sometimes. I don't think it was wrong of her to use the name, she didn't do it for publicity...that's BS. I have much respect for John Lennon but he didn't invent the name, and was not the first or last person to have it. She had a style and sound that was totally hers and garnered attention because of who she was and what she did. Kick ass.

she self releases a lot of her own music now. Arista kind of fucked her over but they screwed over a lot of artists at the time of her release. Because 9/11/01. That was the release date for her debut. She ended up getting new management, and started self releasing records. her stuff is on iTunes, she has several records out now, and tours occasionally. She had a metal band called Devil's Gift for a while.
