Common ground
Finding mutual understanding has become a challenging task for me

The search for common ground is a difficult and exhausting journey

Only I hold complete insight into my own thoughts, feelings, and identity

I can compromise
I am open to negotiation and finding middle ground

I'm willing to try
I am committed to finding a mutually beneficial solution

I am willing to strive for common ground despite the challenges

But I won't bend over backwards
I will not sacrifice my own interests and boundaries for the sake of another's desires

I can be polite
I can demonstrate courtesy and respect

Not say what's on my mind
I may refrain from expressing my true thoughts and feelings

Even if it hurts
Suppressing my emotions may cause me distress, but I am willing to do so for the sake of peace

Time, I've lost
I have wasted valuable time and energy in trying to find common ground with you

Tying myself up in knots
I am mentally and emotionally strained due to this pursuit of common ground

There's a heavy cost
The consequences of following your desires rather than my own are significant and burdensome

To letting someone else call the shots
Sacrificing my desires for yours means giving up control and agency over my own life

Read the disappointment on my face
My lack of enthusiasm or joy is apparent in my facial expressions

I feel used and taken advantage of because you never offer mutual compromise or consideration

Are you scared of the thought?
Perhaps you are afraid or unwilling to consider a solution that does not prioritize your desires
