Can't Stop Thinkin' 'Bout You
Lenny Kravitz Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
And I’ve lost my way
I don't know what is real any longer
There's nothing more to say
But one thing is true
I'm in love with you
And I’m gonna do
Ever since you went away
My whole world's been blue
And I just can't stop
Thinkin’ ‘bout you
Thinkin’ ‘bout you
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (oh yeah)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (thinkin’ ‘bout you)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you
I was never able to forgive myself
For the things I did
I thought, I thought I was a man
But I was just a kid
But now I know it’s true (I know it’s true)
I'm still in love with you (I’m in love with you)
And I’m gonna do
What I got to do
Ever since you went away
My whole world's been blue (my world’s been blue)
And I just can't stop
Thinkin’ ‘bout you
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (oh yeah)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (thinkin’ ‘bout you, babe)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (I’m thinkin’ ‘bout you)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you
But one thing is true (I know it’s true)
I'm in love with you (I’m in love with you)
And I’m gonna do
What I got to do
Ever since you went away
My whole world's been blue (my world’s been blue)
And I just can't stop
Thinkin’ ‘bout you, oh-ho
I can't stop
A-thinkin’ ‘bout you
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (thinkin’ ‘bout you, baby)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (thinkin’ ‘bout you)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (thinkin’ ‘bout you, baby)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you
I think so much I wanna, I say
Heee-hee-ya
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (I’m thinkin’ ‘bout you, baby)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (I’m thinkin’ ‘bout you)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (I’m thinkin’ ‘bout you, oh yeah)
Thinkin’ ‘bout you (come on)
The lyrics of "Can't Stop Thinkin' Bout You" by Lenny Kravitz explore the familiar theme of heartbreak and longing. The singer has lost their way and feels as though they are living in a jungle. They don't know what is real anymore and there's nothing left to say. However, the one thing they know for sure is that they are in love with the person they are singing to and will do what they have to do in order to be with them. The singer is unable to forget this person and is constantly thinking about them. They acknowledge that they were not perfect in the past, but they have come to realize their true feelings and are willing to do what it takes to make it right.
Kravitz's soulful delivery emphasizes the emotional turmoil conveyed in the lyrics. The repetition of the phrase "Thinkin' 'bout you" emphasizes the incessant nature of the singer's thoughts, which they cannot escape. The chorus is catchy and draws the listener in, hooking them on the singer's journey of longing and self-discovery. The song overall serves as a testament to the power of love to overcome past mistakes and to create a brighter future.
