It Won't Feel the Same
Lenny Kravitz Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Build a castle by the sea
Watch the clouds go by for hours
Live a fantasy where everything is how I see
I could have the power
Of the world and all it brings
But it won't feel the same
I'd live in a great big tower
In a world of luxury
But it won't feel the same
It won't feel the same
The same without you
I could walk this earth forever
I could have eternal life
I want you right there beside me, yeah
‘Cause I need your strength
And baby, how I need your life
I could have the power
Of the world and all it brings
But it won't feel the same
It won't feel the same
I'd live in a great big tower
In a world of luxury
But it won't feel the same
It won't feel the same
The same without you
We've been down this road together
And I know that this feels right
And I do believe without you right by my side
But it won't feel the same
So, baby I am gonna fight
I could have the power
Of the world and all it brings
But it wont feel the same
It won't feel the same
I'd live in a great big tower
In a world of luxury
But it won't feel the same
It won't feel the same
I could have the power
Of the world and all it brings
But it wont feel the same
It won't feel the same
I’d live in a great big tower
In a world of luxury
But it won't feel the same
It wont feel the same
The same without you
I could have the power
Of the world and all it brings
But it won't feel the same
It won't feel the same
The same without you
In Lenny Kravitz's song "It Won't Feel the Same," he expresses that wealth and power do not hold the same value if he doesn't have the person he loves by his side. He states that he could "make a billion dollars," "build a castle by the sea," and "live a fantasy," but it wouldn't feel the same without his partner. Kravitz illustrates that the power of money and the world's luxuries don't bring a true sense of happiness and meaning, but rather being with the person he loves.
The song suggests that Kravitz has already experienced a life with his significant other, and he cannot imagine living a life without them. He says, "We've been down this road together," and "I do believe without you right by my side," emphasizing the importance of their relationship in his life. The lyrics portray the idea that having materialistic things means little without the comfort and support of someone you love.
Kravitz mentions that he could have "eternal life" and "walk this earth forever," but even that still wouldn't feel the same without his significant other. He ends the song with the repetition of "I could have the power," emphasizing that he could have everything in the world but still wouldn't feel complete. The song expresses that love is the most important aspect of life and what ultimately brings true happiness.

@@eldiablov2 It wasn't just Madonna. (Which he denies by the way)
He was pussy hound back in his hey-day. This entire album is a dedication to Lisa Bonet. And it's obvious when you listen to it.
Edit: if anyone doubts this check out his VH1 "Behind the music" episode. I love the mans music. He's the reason I took up guitar, bass, and songwriting. I played in bands because of his influence. So I obviously absorbed everything I could on him for a long time. They cover this part in his life pretty well.

Here we are, still together
We are one
So much time wasted
Playing games with love
So many tears I've cried
So much pain inside
But baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many years we've tried
To keep our love alive
But baby, it ain't over till it's over
How many times did we give up
But we always worked things out
And all my doubts and fear kept me wondering, yeah
If I'd always always be in love
So many tears I've cried
So much pain inside
But baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many years we've tried
And kept our love alive
'Cause baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many tears I've cried
So much pain inside
Baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many years we've tried
And kept our love alive
'Cause baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many tears I've cried
So much pain inside
But baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many years we've tried
To keep our love alive
'Cause baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many tears we've cried
So much pain inside
But baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many years we've tried
To keep our love alive
'Cause baby, it ain't over till it's over
So many tears we've cried
So much pain inside
But baby, it ain't over till it's over

I had encounteted this song from the radio back in 1990. I was 12 years old Korean kid. I couldnt understand english and who the singer was. No internet or tools to know what the song was. In 2000, I was a korean air force soldier. My boss was listening this song. I asked him whose song is that. It could be rude to him because the rank between him and myself was huge. But he smiled and told me "Do you like this song? It's lenny k" it took 10 years to know his name and song. I am 42 now. This song reminds me of the days.. and never give up in my life.
