We Can Get It All Together
Lenny Kravitz Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Illusions I can't by words explain
Caught up in nothing
Confusions has turned my world insane
Deliver me from loneliness
Deliver me from selfishness
Deliver me from brokenness
I thank you father
For giving me life beyond the grave
Blood is the power
So now I don't have to be afraid
I hear the truth, I know the taste
I read your word, I feel your grace
I need to do an about face
Right into you so we can get it all together
We can get it all together
Get it together
We can get it all together
Get it together
We can get it all together
Get it together
We can get it all together, gether, gether, gether
Oh, it feels so good to be alive
I'm gonna do my thing, fulfill this life
Walking right in my path today
Yeah, I'm gonna hold your hand tight all the way
Deliver me from loneliness (deliver me)
Deliver me from selfishness (deliver me)
Deliver me from brokenness (deliver me)
Deliver me so we can get it all together (get it all together)
Oh, yeah, c'mon
We can get it all together
We can do it, we can do it, oh
Yeah, yeah, c'mon
We can get it all together
Oh, alright, c'mon
We can get it all together
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh yeah, c'mon
We can get it all together
Lenny Kravitz’s song We Can Get It All Together is about overcoming loneliness, confusion, and brokenness. The first verse describes the singer's emotions as being "wrapped up in sorrow" and experiencing "illusions" they can't explain with words. The second verse talks about the power of blood and the singer’s new sense of confidence in not being afraid. The singer then acknowledges the "truth" they hear and "grace" they feel from reading the word, and expresses a desire to "do an about face" and turn towards the person they are singing to.
The chorus is a call for unity, with the repeated refrain of "we can get it all together." The singer yearns for deliverance from loneliness, selfishness, and brokenness, in order to bring themselves and the other person together. The last verse is an expression of hope and determination, with the singer declaring it feels "so good to be alive" and stating their intention to "do my thing, fulfil this life" and "hold your hand tight all the way."
Overall, the song seems to be a plea for emotional and spiritual connection with another person, and a rejection of isolation and despair. It combines religious imagery with themes of personal growth and interpersonal connection.
