They recorded in their living room using two sticks and the arm of a sofa as percussion.
The band originally released a 16-track demo entitled "Th Half-Time Show", which became the basis of the album "Haunted Sandwich". The debut album was recorded 3 times before the band was satisfied.
Lentil's second album came in the form of the 11-track "Answers", released christmas 2007. This album has a darker and more serious feel to it, while keeping the pop-punk edge that the fans enjoyed. "Answers" also showed that the band had matured dramatically since their first album.
In the summer of 2008, guitarist Jak Noble re-recorded the entire of "Haunted Sandwich", but vocals were not recorded until the winter and the album was finished on the 23rd of December. The album saw an improvement in production quality from "Answers", as well as more impressive solos and vocal harmonies, while still keeping true to the original album. It was renamed "Haunted Sandwich: Re-Remastered" and released on Jak's independent label "Murder on the Dancefloor Records".
George decided to leave music behind him in 2009, though Jak has reported in 2014 that he has created a synthesised version of his brother's voice and will be re-recording both of Lentil's albums with these synthesised vocals.

Lamppost hit me
Attacked by a kitty
Oh, they released the hounds
Door fell on me
Lost my teddy
My luck is fading away
I don't know why
I'm so unlucky
It's never been this way before
I don't think that
I've been this fat
Since I was three of four
Oh, lost my job today
Never ever once got payed
Oh, my DVD player broke
Dog's on fire
Tripped over a wire
The lyrics to Lentil's song "I Don't Know Why" are centered around the theme of bad luck. In the first stanza, the singer lists a series of unfortunate events that have happened to them: a tree fell in their garden, they were hit by a lamppost, attacked by a kitty, hounds were released, a door fell on them, and they lost their teddy. These events are presented in an almost comical way, with the use of animals and household objects as the sources of harm, perhaps to lighten the mood of a rather dark topic.
The second stanza continues the theme of bad luck that seems to be spiraling out of control. The singer expresses a sense of hopelessness, with luck fading away โmore and more every day.โ The chorus reflects the singer's confusion about their misfortune, with the repetition of โI Don't Know Why,โ conveying a sense of disbelief and frustration. The final lines of the song are almost absurd in nature, with the singer losing their job and never getting paid, their DVD player breaking and the dog catching on fire, and finally tripping over a wire.
Overall, the song speaks to the universal experience of feeling like everything is against you, as though the world is conspiring to make your life a misery. It is a relatable experience that many people can empathize with, and the quirky nature in which the singer presents their misfortunes adds a lighthearted spin to the song's somewhat melancholic theme.
