Nice band.

Tight together and in tune.

Nice energy and precision in the 1/16 notes in the woodwinds.

Fine and groovy conductor, in his own understated fashion.

This is a lovely tune played by a lovely band.

I had to play this in High school... it's nice to hear how it's supposed to sound at full speed.

@xp Trippi qx there's no good way to describe it except at one point 3 of us were standing next to eachother reaching around and under eachother so we were each controlling half of one trumpet ( valves or mouthpiece) and since I can't find a video of it that's all I can say

@kjcorder what do you mean

I’m in high school right now playing it :(

I did it senior year as 1st chair with my 2nd and 3rd chair. But we did the "trick" where we crossed over eachother to do fingers on another horn.. our director said it's a thing that gets done but I've never found a video of anyone doing it

Takes me back to my childhood, wonderful music Dad played on his quite powerful grama phone, no TV in those days, Leroy Anderson was the music of the time, so many memorable numbers he wrote

Spectacular! I once heard a version whereby two of the three played the orchestral part at 2:24 (where the baritones run up the scale immediately prior to the end), an incredible variation/take on the classic.

As a clarinetist, this song makes me weep.

+Lani Bohmont, it shouldn't. The two instruments are made for different sounds and different purposes. I still am amazed at the abilities of two of our clarinetists when I was in high school. They were wondrous. Both went on to professional, classical careers.

Isn't it interesting how really good musicians make something like this sound almost leisurely and unhurried?   Maurice Andre does it too.   Listen to him playing "Carnival of Venice sometime.
