R.I.P. to a man who inspired me, in 1960, to keep playing piano. I saw Les in the San Francisco Bay Are, in the 2000s. He was as great as ever.

The "Truth" of the matter is, the root of African american music is none other than the gospel.  Plain and simple.
Thanks for posting this.

This is the real stuff. Nobody plays Gospel Jazz like McCann. Wh;at a pleasure to hear him play. He is the real deal;!

this is HIFI mono, right? When my brother left for his tours of VN, he gave me playing rights on this on the family Sears Silvertone. The other album was Ramsey Lewis Trio-- In Crowd. '64. My first album to buy at age 15? Guaraldi's Cast Your Fate, next was Bola Sete. Hooked for life.

Sounds like a beautiful big brother. Is he sharing music with you?

Beautiful.  If there aren't lyrics to this--there soon will be.
