The band's most prominent show to-date was in September, 2005, when they were an opening act for The Rolling Stones in Moncton, New Brunswick. The concert drew an estimated 85,000 spectators. That time as they finished up their set, one of them slyly asked the crowd not to leave the stadium because there was going to be some more good music later…
In 2006, they released their second 'official album' called Grand Champion International de Course, including Tout Nu Sur La Plage , Grand Champion and Youri. This record was in the top charts in Québec, selling over 50,000 copies.
Les Trois Accords toured also in France, Belgium and all over Canada since 2006.
In 2008 they released a CD/DVD special 'country' called En Beau Country including their best songs and three new ones. It was recorded unplugged, in front of families and fans.
Their latest album is called Dans Mon Corps and was released in october 2009.
Originally formed in 1997 by Olivier Benoit and Simon Proulx, the band's current formation is:
* Pierre-Luc Boisvert (bass/basse)
* Charles Dubreuil (drum/batterie)
* Alexandre Parr (guitars, vocals/guitare et backvocals)
* Simon Proulx (vocals, guitars/chanteur principal et guitare)

Bateau
Les Trois Accords Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
À l'abri des passants tu
M'as dit des mots
Et me jettes l'encre dessus
Mes dents sont pleines de sang
Et mon coeur s'est tu
Je t'attendrai au paradis
Je n'ai rien compris
The opening lyrics of "Bateau" by Les Trois Accords narrate an exchange between two individuals, presumably on a boat or a vessel of sorts, and away from public view. The singer acknowledges that the other person has said some words that they found heavy or weighty. As the conversation progresses, the other person seems to become more agitated or upset, to the point where the singer's ears hurt. It is unclear what the other person is upset about, but the singer wants a break from the intensity of the conversation.
The next verse depicts the other person continuing to speak about the two of them and themselves, while the wind dries out the singer's mouth and eyes. Suddenly, the other person stops talking, pushing the singer onto the engine, and continues talking about themselves. The singer cannot hear anything anymore, and the sound seems to affect their head. They are left confused and with blood in their mouth. The song ends with the singer saying that they will wait for the other person in paradise and that they did not understand what had happened.
There is room for interpretation in Les Trois Accords's "Bateau," and different people may have other takes on what the song conveys. However, some have inferred that the song is about a conversation between a couple, potentially breaking up. The line "je t'attendrai au paradis" (I will wait for you in paradise) could be implying that the two are parting ways. Nonetheless, Les Trois Accords craft their lyrics ambiguously enough that listeners can take their own meanings from the song.
