Great to see so many other people agree that this is the best version of A Christmas Carol. First saw it in a movie theater in 1971 and immediately loved it. My favorite scenes are the added "chilly" hell scenes with Alec Guinness, and particularly the romance scenes of Christmas past. Heartbreaking. Gets me every time.

I cannot listen to "You" without crying.

@jaysonshepard434

this version and the one with Patrick Steward are my faves

@captainquint25

A true classic; epic in it's quality, faithfulness to the story and stellar performances. Will never be outdone.

The greatest Christmas musical film of all time!!!! Albert Finney and the whole cast plus the fantastic music is sensational !!!!!

@muppetfangirl1274

Plus Albert Finney was probably the best scrooge they had seen

@newshound8072

Albert Finney should have won the Oscar.

@scottmiller6495

@News Hound If everyone knew ahead of time that George C. Scott would refuse his award and not even show up then Finney would have won!!!!!

@newshound8072

@Scott Miller it was a great year for movies. Patton was also outstanding. They always reward drama before anything else. But Finney was masterful.

@newshound8072

@Scott Miller Most likely, yes. He was outstanding. So was George C. Scott....but if he was going to refuse....yes...give it to someone who would have been grateful.
