The first members of the band were: Admir Ahmetović (drums), Damir Terzić (guitars), Nedim Sinanović (bass) and Dino Šaran (vocals), both of the latter songwriters. Letu Štuke intrigued music critics back then with their vigouros work and numerous concerts on (what was then known as) Sarajevo demo scene. Sadly though, because of the various changes and because the members had to serve in the army, and after that the war in Bosnia during the 1990's - the group falls apart and everything stays still just on their demo recordings.
Members of the band move to various corners of the world, while Dino Šaran after a short stay in Zagreb goes back to Sarajevo. While writing songs for various Croatian musicians (such as Severina and many others) he starts thinking about starting the band again. With his strong will and with big help from the arranger-producer-precusionist Đani Pervan (who in the meantime moved to Paris, and became one of the Darko Rundek & Cargo Orkestar members) in February of 2005. Letu Štuke goes into studio and finally, after 17 years of waiting, their first album is being recorded.
Now famous Croatian label Menart recognizes great potential in Letu Štuke and presses the realese of the album annoucing it as "one of the most interesting rock albums to come out this year".
In early 2008. they release their second album Proteini i ugljikohidrati.
The band members now are: Dino Šaran (vocals) and Đani Pervan (drums and precusions) as the main duo, Dejan Ostojić (bass), Dino Vatrenjak (guitars) and Slobodan Ćosić (keyboards).
Grad bez boje

stajali smo mokri do kože.
Ti si me pitala: "Može li još?"
Rekoh da može.
Magla se spustila
i svuda jastuci od smoga.
Ti si me pitala: "Jesmo li sami?"
Jer ima tamo negdje jedan grad,
gdje kiše dane broje.
Gdje niko više nije mlad,
grad bez boje.
Kad sunce opere ceste
i blijeda lica.
Kad utihne tišina
i počne pjesma ptica.
Ima tamo negdje jedan grad,
gdje kiše dane broje.
Gdje niko više nije mlad,
grad bez boje.
Ima tamo negdje jedan grad,
gdje kiša mora stati.
Kad čujem pjesmu ptica,
dječiji smijeh,
tad ću znati.
The song Grad bez boje by Letu Štuke is a poignant reflection on life, the passing of time and the search for meaning in a world that can sometimes feel grey and dull. The lyrics describe a scene in which the singers are standing in the rain, soaked to the bone, while a mist of smoke descends all around them. In this moment of vulnerability, one of the singers asks if they are alone and if there is a God. These questions suggest a search for connection, both with other people and with something larger than themselves, as they navigate the challenges of life.
The song also refers to a particular city, described as one where the rain is a constant presence, where no one is young anymore and where everything seems colourless. This idea of a city without colour suggests a lack of vibrancy and vitality, and a sense of stagnation or decline. And yet, the song also suggests that there is hope for renewal and transformation, as the singers describe a moment when the rain stops, and they hear the sound of birdsong and children laughing. This moment represents a glimmer of joy in an otherwise bleak landscape, and suggests that there is always the potential for new beginnings and fresh starts.
Overall, Grad bez boje is a powerful and thought-provoking song that touches on many of the universal themes of the human experience, including the search for meaning, the passing of time, and the pursuit of happiness and connection.

Kiša je padala,
Rain was falling,
stajali smo mokri do kože.
We stood drenched to our skin.
Ti si me pitala: "Može li još?"
You asked me, "Can it go on?"
Rekoh da može.
I said it can.
Magla se spustila
The fog descended
i svuda jastuci od smoga.
And everywhere, pillows of smog.
Ti si me pitala: "Jesmo li sami?"
You asked me, "Are we alone?"
"Ima li Boga?"
"Is there a God?"
Jer ima tamo negdje jedan grad,
For there is a city somewhere,
gdje kiše dane broje.
Where rain counts the days.
Gdje niko više nije mlad,
Where no one is young anymore,
grad bez boje.
A colorless city.
Kad sunce opere ceste
When the sun washes the streets
i blijeda lica.
And pale faces.
Kad utihne tišina
When the silence falls
i počne pjesma ptica.
And the birds start singing.
Ima tamo negdje jedan grad,
There is a city somewhere,
gdje kiše dane broje.
Where rain counts the days.
Gdje niko više nije mlad,
Where no one is young anymore,
grad bez boje.
A colorless city.
Ima tamo negdje jedan grad,
There is a city somewhere,
gdje kiša mora stati.
Where the rain must stop.
Kad čujem pjesmu ptica,
When I hear the birds sing,
dječiji smijeh,
Children's laughter,
tad ću znati.
Then I will know.
