ewig bringt das Leben Angst
ewig macht die Angst marode
was aus Liebe auferstand
Ewig scheint kein Licht zu glühen
ewig hält kein Menschenband
ewig wird doch nur verblühen
was aus Liebe auferstand
Komm doch mit mir
Hab keine Angst
Komm doch mit mir
Nimm meine Hand
Komm doch mit mir
Hab keine Angst
Komm doch mit mir
Nimm meine Hand
Komm doch mit mir
Hab keine Angst
Komm doch mit mir
Nimm meine Hand
Nicht jeder Tod gibt neues Leben
und im Leben lebt der Tod
deine Angst wird dir verwehren
was die Liebe bot
Ewig wird kein Frieden währen
ewig aber auch kein Kampf
ewig können wir nur lieben
was aus Liebe auferstand
Jedes ewig hat ein Ende
bis dahin nimm meine Hand
lass uns tragen in den Händen
was aus Liebe auferstand
Letzte Instanz's "Ewig" is a melancholic song that delves deep into the concept of eternity and the fear it brings, specifically the fear of death. The song offers a contrasting view between life and death and tries to bring home the point that while eternity may exist, everything must come to an end.
The song's opening lines speak of how the fear of death is eternal - it exists forever. Death is something that can happen at any time, and so the fear of it stays with us for life. The following line then says that life brings fear too. The fear of what the future holds, of growing old, of missing out on things, and so on. The next line in the song talks about how this fear eats away at us and makes us weak. The things that we build with love can fall apart due to the fear that we have.
The chorus of the song offers a ray of hope to the listener. The singer is calling out to someone, asking them to come along and not be afraid. The message is clear - even if everything falls apart, we can hold on to each other and get through it together. The repeated call to "Nimm meine Hand" or "Take my hand" is an offer of companionship, of someone to lean on. The song's final verse highlights how not all deaths lead to new life, and how fear can hold us back from experiencing what love has to offer. The song closes on a bittersweet note, with a reminder that all eternity will eventually come to an end.
