In April 2007, after touring in the U.S. and Europe, the band released its first album, Lez Zeppelin, which was produced by Eddie Kramer, former recording engineer on several Led Zeppelin albums. In the wake of this release, the band was invited to festivals including the Download Festival in the UK, Rock am Ring and Rock im Park in Germany, and the Voodoo Festival in New Orleans.
Throughout 2008, the group continued to tour in the U.S. and in the late Autumn made its first visit to Japan to promote the release of its debut record. In March 2009, Lez Zeppelin played a benefit concert in Mumbai. In 2010, the band headed back into the studio to record a second album, Lez Zeppelin II.

Stars fill my dream
I'm a traveler of both time and space
To be where I have been
Sit with elders of the gentle race
This world has seldom seen
They talk of days for which they sit and wait
All will be revealed
Talk in song in tongues of lilting grace
Sounds caress my ear
There are not a word I heard could I relate
Story was quite clear
Oh
Oh
Oh yeah I been flyin'
Love oh ain't no denyin', no
Oh, ooh yea, I been flyin'
Mama, mama, ain't no denyin', no denyin'
All I see turns to brown
As the sun burns the ground
And my eyes fill with sand
As I scan this wasted land
Try to find, try to find what I feel
Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace
Like thoughts inside a dream
Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream
My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again
Sure as the dust that floats high in June, when movin' through Kashmir
Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years
With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear
Oh
Oh
When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah
When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah
Tryin' to find, tryin' to find where I been yeah, yeah
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down
Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down
Ooh, let me take you there
The lyrics of Led Zeppelin's "Kashmir" describe a journey through time and space. The singer is a traveler who has experienced much and has had the privilege of sitting with elders of a "gentle race." These elders speak of days that they are waiting for, days when everything will be revealed. The singer describes these conversations as being spoken in "tongues of lilting grace" and that the sounds caress his ear. He cannot fully comprehend the message, but the story is clear.
The second half of the song changes gears and we find the singer alone in a dusty, empty land. All he sees has turned to brown as the sun beats down on the ground. His eyes are filled with sand as he searches for something. He calls out for a pilot of a storm who leaves no trace and asks for guidance on the path that led him to this place. He longs to return to his Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, and he will, just as surely as dust floats high in June when he is moving through Kashmir.
The overall theme of the song seems to be one of searching for a deeper truth and understanding, of hearing a message that you cannot fully comprehend but that resonates with you on a deep level. It is a powerful and evocative journey, which is fitting for a band like Led Zeppelin that is known for its epic and sometimes mystical lyrics.

Possibly the best live version I have ever seen. Jason does his dad proud on the drums. Everything is so damn tight, simply amazing
@knotwilg3596
Agree. I've always thought Plant is a little flat in the Knebworth version. Blasphemy, I know, but here he's way "sharper" :)
@ujohnlynch2341
@@knotwilg3596 Agree. Not to be snarky, but here they are all sober. Knebworth, no so much.
@TeeDOG6
You always hear about the debate between Bonham vs. Peart. But I always thought it was John Bonham, not Jason. My God, this was an awesome performance. Jason is a very underrated drummer. This video rocked.

Agree 100%!

@@knotwilg3596 knebworth was not the "good/great" Zeppelin, in fact, one show the 4th? was terrible, but we Zeppelin fans understand.

It's no wonder why so many modern day bands struggle. The bar was just set so high...
@Mia7189
So true. I was a teenager in the 70's and I feel luck to have experienced Led Zeppelin in my formative years. I truly believe that Rock and Roll bands will never be this awesomely inspiring ever again. The entire music world is more about business and less about talent. Sad but true.

Let's see arseholes like Beiber try to come up with something this good!

"The entire music world is more about business and less about talent."
Yeah, because consumers buy music because they like a specific song, why should anybody bother thinking about the required talent behind it when it is completely irrelevant to the listening pleasure?
