De esta cama
Ahora
Abro la ventana
Y entra la luz
Con el viento
Ahora te siento
Y estas tan lejos
Si un día te vas
Y ya no vuelves más
Si un día me voy
Y ya no vuelvo yo
Que largo es el mundo
Es infinito
Ayer te tuve
En mis brazos
Y hoy
Como un grano de arena
En algún suelo ajeno
Estas escondido de mí
Si un día te vas
Y ya no vuelves más
Si un día me voy
Y ya no vuelvo yo
Que grán silencio
Todo en suspenso
Que vértigo de no verte
Retumbo
Como una campana
Abro la ventana
Y entras tú
Entras tú...
In Lhasa's song "Abro la Ventana," a sense of longing and sadness is conveyed through the lyrics. The song starts with the singer waking up from a bed and opening the window, letting in light and wind, which makes her feel the presence of someone she loves. However, this person is far away, and their distance is felt in every moment of the song. The lyrics describe the infinite vastness of the world that separates them, and despite having this person's memory in her arms yesterday, the singer cannot find them today, as if they were a grain of sand hidden away in a foreign land.
The feeling of loss and the unknown future are also present in the lyrics, as the singer seems to come to terms with the possibility that this distance may always keep them apart. The song's chorus repeats the idea that "if one day you leave and never come back, or if one day I leave and never return, the world will be a longer and more infinite place." The silence surrounding the absence of this person is overwhelming, and the singer feels dizzy and overwhelmed with the thought of not seeing them again. As the song ends, the singer opens the window again, and this time, the missing person's presence is evoked by the wind that enters through the open window.
Overall, "Abro la Ventana" is a poignant song that captures the feeling of longing and the distance that can stand between two people in love. The lyrics convey a sense of loss and the inability to find someone who is intimately familiar to you, no matter how hard you try.
