Que no hay ni hambre
Ni miedo, ni soledad
No hay nadie que me ame
En toda esa ciudad
Desde que no hay dolor
No hay nadie que sufra
Por un amor
No, no quiero olvidar
Ay, ya no se canta
Como se cantaba ayer
Ahora dicen : "Ven, tomamos un café
Besamos en Français"
No, ya no se canta
"Sin tu amor me moriré"
No se grita ya
"No aguanto ese sufrir...
Quiero vivir ". Linda canción
Desde que no hay maldad
Todo el mundo se ríe
De mi ansiedad.
Yo lo llamo "poesía"
Le dicen "Vanidad"
Desde que no hay tradición
Mi vida se desnuda
Ya sin pasión
Y no sé para qué
Sirve mi corazón
Ay, ya no se canta
Como se cantaba ayer
Ahora dicen : "Ven, tomamos un café
Besamos en Français"
No, ya no se canta
"Sin tu amor me moriré"
No se grita ya
"No aguanto ese sufrir
Quiero vivir "

The song "Mi Vanidad" by Lhasa is about the changes in society over time and how it has affected the way people express themselves. The singer reflects on the past and how people used to sing about love and lost, but now it seems like everyone just wants to forget the pain and live without passion. She describes how since there is no more evil, hunger or fear in the world, nobody loves her anymore and people laugh at her anxiety which she calls "poetry". The singer also talks about how traditional values and culture have disappeared, leaving her feeling empty and unsure about the purpose of her heart.
The chorus highlights the contrast between the past and present, with people now asking to have coffee and kissing in French instead of singing about dying without love or wanting to live. The singer notes how nobody shouts about the suffering they endure, but rather they seek pleasure through meaningless experiences. Despite the changes, the singer acknowledges the song is beautiful even if it doesn't fit into the current society.
Overall, "Mi Vanidad" is an insightful song about how societal changes can impact the way people express themselves and the feelings they have.
