The boys who make up the vocal band Libera have been described as “normal” and “ordinary.” However, as their recordings and performances demonstrate, the music they produce is truly extraordinary. With shimmering, mystical chords and ecstatic harmonies, they are unlike any other group you have ever heard. These are truly sounds to lift the soul, celestial sounds for a new time.
The singers of Libera, who are aged seven to sixteen, attend many different local schools in South London and come from a variety of backgrounds. Although they are boys and they sing, they do not think of themselves as choirboys, but rather as an alternative kind of boy band.
While the unique sound of Libera may be impossible to pigeonhole, its universal appeal has endeared the group to fans all over the world, particularly in the US, the UK, Korea and Japan, where their CDs top the mainstream and classical charts and where they pack concert halls appearing in their trademark flowing white robes on imaginatively lit stages.

Far away and anywhere
Time after time, you always shine
Through dark of night, calling after me
And wherever I climb
Far away and anywhere
You raise me high, beyond the sky
Venite Spiritu et emitte caelitus
Venite Spiritu et emitte caelitus
Venite Spiritu
Venite Spirtus
Far away, beyond the sky
Whenever I cry
Far away and anywhere
You hear me call when shadows fall
A light of hope, showing me the way
And whenever I cry
Far away and anywhere
You raise me high, beyond the sky
Through stormy night, lifting me up high
Venite Spiritu et emitte caelitus
Venite Spiritu et emitte caelitus
Venite Spiritu
Venite Spirtus
Far away, beyond the sky
"Far Away" by Libera is a song that expresses the sense of spirituality and faith. The lyrics portray the idea that, no matter where the singer goes and whatever she faces, she can always sense the presence of something greater. The song makes extensive use of metaphors to convey this idea. The phrase "Far Away and Anywhere" is repeated throughout the song to suggest that the singer could be anywhere, but still, she feels the warmth and the guiding light of something beyond her. The song also uses the metaphor of light and dark to signify the times of trouble and peace in the singer's journey. The phrase "Through dark of night, calling after me" suggests that the singer feels lost in the darkness of her life, but is still guided by a voice that calls out to her. The words "you always shine" and "You raise me high, beyond the sky" indicate the presence of a higher power that uplifts the singer and protects her.
The Latin phrase "Venite Spiritu et Emitte Caelitus Venite Spiritu et Emitte Caelitus Venite Spiritus, Venite Spirtus" is repeated twice in the song. The phrase translates into "Come, Holy Spirit, and send from heaven, Come, Holy Spirit come." The use of Latin in the song adds to the sense of spirituality and religious tradition. The phrase echoes the idea of invoking the presence of the Holy Spirit to help guide and protect the singer in her journey.
