Libido Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Malditos miedos trastornan, violentan tu voz... hiriente
The lyrics of "Hembra" by Libido speak of a woman who is encouraged to pursue her dreams without delay. The opening line, "Hembra nunca es tarde para alcanzar los sueños" ("It's never too late for a woman to reach her dreams"), suggests that the song is intended as a message of empowerment, urging the listener to pursue her ambitions with vigour.
The following lines describe a situation in which the woman is unable to express herself fully. The words "Mientras no puedas hablar ni mostrar la verdad...siente" ("While you can't speak or show the truth...feel") imply that she is frustrated and constrained by her inability to communicate her feelings. The singer urges her not to hide her emotions, saying "No ocultes mas tus sentimientos" ("Don't hide your feelings anymore").
The chorus repeats the idea that the singer wants to connect with the woman on a deeper level, expressed through a metaphor of celestial bodies. Now I understand what your sun is, I aspire to meet you in the constellations, I leave you the moon in case I'm not there, and a waning quarter as a sign of love").
Overall, "Hembra" can be interpreted as a passionate call to arms for women to pursue their dreams and express their true selves without fear or constraint.
