Seasons
Life of Agony Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

It disturbs me to see that you're gorwing old
It concerns me to be the one you want to hold
Too busy running on fuel
Thand God you made it through
Let's spend the times we've missed and turn these days to gold

Lost as father and son
Bring us back together as one
Seasons change and so did your son
Strife with emotions that can't be one
Too busy running on fuel
Thank God you made it through
Let's spend the times we've missed and turn these days to gold

Want to hand you a piece of my delicate heart
This song is to uplift you and not to tear you apart
Father's lost in the mountains

But no mountain I can't see
But if that mountain should crumble come crumble on top of me

Overall Meaning

The song Seasons by Life of Agony touches on the themes of change, aging and strained relationships between a father and son. The lyrics bring to light the feeling of concern and worry that arises when one sees someone they care about grow old. The opening line "It disturbs me to see that you're growing old" is a stark reminder of the physical changes and limitations that come with aging. The song goes on to express the desire to make up for lost time and to turn these precious moments into gold.

The lyrics "Lost as father and son, Bring us back together as one" reflects the emotional distance between the father and son, and the need to bridge the gap that has come with time. This distance is also evident in the line "Strife with emotions that can't be one" which suggests a conflict or tension that exists between the two. However, despite this, the song remains optimistic and hopeful about reconnecting, rekindling the bond and making up for the time lost.

The last verse of the song "Want to hand you a piece of my delicate heart,This song is to uplift you and not to tear you apart, Father's lost in the mountains but no mountain I can’t see, But if that mountain should crumble come crumble on top of me" is a poignant reminder of the value of the relationship between the father and son. The metaphor of the mountain symbolizes the obstacles between the two, however, the willingness to sacrifice oneself for the other reveals the depth of the love and affection that still exists.

This tune is just too awesome, the melody in the chorus is priceless, IMO one of the most achieved LOA tunes of their entire career and strangely pretty forgotten. The verse, the chorus and even the outro.. 'come crumble, come crumbe on top of me' OMG too emotional, intense, phenomenal..
