Their debut My Iron Heart was self released in March of 2008
In May of 2009 Amen. The Animal changed their name to Life on Repeat.
With somewhat of a fresh start, Life On Repeat are preparing to spread their infectious brand of pop-rock with melodic hooks, dance-able beats and driving guitars in the form of a digital EP to be recorded with producer Brian McTernan (Thrice, Circa Survive, Senses Fail) in August and released later this fall. "He's responsible for so many successful albums that each of us grew up listening to. When we heard that we had the opportunity to record with him, it was a no-brainer," explained Walker. "Upon leaving the studio, we wish to not see home for months at a time, no matter what it takes," Baylis expressed what could possible be the band's mantra. Striving to perfect their craft not only in the studio, but more importantly live, self-booked tours have kept the band on the road for over two years, including shows with Versa Emerge, Dance Gavin Dance, The Ataris, and more. Just a month ago, Life On Repeat played all 6 dates of Cornerstone Festival 2009. While consistent touring is an essential ingredient for the recipe of any successful band, it was a much bigger requirement for the quintet. "In a nutshell, there is no music scene in Salisbury; the closest venues are about 2 hours away. We rented out halls and churches to hold our own shows," Walker described. "Throughout the past year or so, we've basically established our own local scene through the shows we've set up." Of the signing to Equal Vision Records, the band says, "Equal Vision has not only launched the careers of many highly respected artists, but they have maintained a work ethic that continues to prove they are here to stay. From day one, we aspired to be involved with a label that is, in every way, able to properly have our music heard. We couldn't be more excited for what the future holds with Life On Repeat and EVR."

Forgotten
Life on Repeat Lyrics

I'm dying not to lose it all
It's my time I won't be forgotten
What can we say when we're dancing in a free fall
Just say we won't be forgotten
My dear lie
Though I've tried
Do you know what it's like to be used
I've seen rain
I have bled
And though my veins run cold I'm undead
And the shadows whisper nothings
Despite you
I find the truth in perfect patterns
All the motives, all the secrets, and the lies.
(How will you sleep tonight?)
I'm only human
But today I swear to God I might ascend into the sky.
Because I try so hard
I'm dying not to lose it all
It's my time I won't be forgotten
What can we say if we're dancing in a free fall
Just say we won't be forgotten.
Did more fill
Has hope sailed
I'm sick with every breath I inhale.
Like your body was a tomb
All along
Does it burn that I've turned
I'll make you watch me use what I've learned.
I'll come back from the blackness with tactics only armed with what I've earned.
Because I try so hard
I'm dying not to lose it all
It's my time I won't be forgotten
What can we say if we're dancing in a free fall
Just say we won't be forgotten.
Cause when innocence breaks we discover a place
In which all of our fears are addressed
So master the wisdom that conquer the pressures
The good, and the bad, and the oppressed.
If life is a game then make up the rules
But don't you dare ever forget
That how we're remembered defines us forever
This is the chance that you get!
Oh! Oh!
Because I tried so hard
I'm dying not to lose it all
It's my time I won't be forgotten
What can we say if we're dancing in a free fall
Just say we won't
I'm just saying that we try too hard
Cause nothings really lost at all
And that pain will soon be forgotten, yeah
What's left to say when we're dancing in a free fall
Just say we won't be forgotten.
Oh, oh. This is the chance that you get!
The song “Forgotten” by Life on Repeat speaks of the struggles of being forgotten and the agony that comes with it. The first verse sets the mood of the song perfectly, as the singer talks about how hard they try not to lose everything they have. They then mention that it’s their time and they won’t be forgotten, as if to reassure themselves that they will not be lost in the midst of everything. The chorus is repeated throughout the song, with the singer stating that they won’t be forgotten, even when they’re dancing in a free fall.
In the second verse, the singer speaks of their fears and how they feel like the darkness has taken over their mind. They ask if anyone else knows what it feels like to be used, possibly implying that they’ve been manipulated or taken advantage of. They mention that they’ve seen rain and bled, and though their veins run cold, they’re undead. Despite the whispers of the shadows, they’re still standing strong.
The bridge speaks of finding the truth in perfect patterns and discovering the motives, secrets, and lies. The singer mentions that they’re only human, but they have the potential to ascend into the sky. The second part of the bridge talks about returning from the darkness with tactics they’ve learned, and how they won’t be forgotten. The song ends with a repeated chorus, with the singer reassuring themselves and the listener that they won’t be forgotten.

If people could bring back bands from the grave, most people might pick MCR or other popular bands like that. But not me. I'd bring back these guys. They ended on such a high note with Blacklisted and, in my opinion, was a great sophomore album and maybe their best work. That album is probably in my top ten 10 of all time.
