Di tepi sungai
Suatu kebun yang permai
Riuh dan damai
Itu suara air
Mendesir-desir
Darilah pintu air
Nun di sana tempatnya
Beristirahat
Melepaskan lelahnya
Hibur hatinya
Di spanjang lembah sungai
Teratur rapi
Sungguh indah dan permai
Di Tirtonadi
Nun di sana tempatnya
Beristirahat
Melepaskan lelahnya
Hibur hatinya
Di spanjang lembah sungai
Teratur rapi
Sungguh indah dan permai
Di Tirtonadi
Sungguh indah dan permai
Di Tirtonadi
Lilis Suryani's song "Tirtonadi" paints a vivid and idyllic picture of a serene place, inviting listeners into a world characterized by tranquility and natural beauty. In the opening lines, the imagery of "Di Tirtonadi yang permai" (In beautiful Tirtonadi) sets the scene against a riverbank, where the lush surroundings of a garden amplify the sensations of joy and peace. This juxtaposition of the garden's beauty with the accompanying sounds of nature illustrates a perfect harmony that resonates throughout the lyrics. The phrase "Riuh dan damai" (Noisy and peaceful) captures the essence of a lively but serene atmosphere, highlighting how nature's sounds can create both a delightful ambiance and a sense of calmness.
As the lyrics delve deeper into the experience, the sound of water becomes a central motif. The line "Itu suara air, Mendesir-desir" (That is the sound of water, bubbling gently) invokes the listener's auditory senses, making them feel as though they are present at the riverbank, hearing the pleasant murmur of flowing water. The reference to the water cascading from the sluice gate emphasizes the power and purity of nature, suggesting a sense of renewal that evokes a powerful emotional response. This embrace of the natural world not only reflects a physical landscape but also symbolizes an escape from the burdens of life, offering a soothing rinse that washes away worries.
In the subsequent verses, the idea of a retreat or a resting place becomes prominent. "Nun di sana tempatnya, Beristirahat" (Over there is the place to rest) evokes a strong metaphor for seeking refuge from daily hardships. It represents a haven where one can rejuvenate, physically and emotionally, shedding fatigue and inviting joy. The act of resting is not merely about a break from labor but is framed as an essential part of holistic well-being. This theme speaks to a universal need for moments of stillness, where individuals can reconnect with themselves and find solace in the beauty that surrounds them.
Ultimately, the repetition of key phrases like "Sungguh indah dan permai" (Truly beautiful and peaceful) in the conclusion reinforces the song's central theme of appreciation for the natural world. It serves as a reminder of how places like Tirtonadi provide not only a visual feast but also an emotional sanctuary. The structured descriptions of the lush river valley, with its neat organization and inherent beauty, encourages listeners to reflect on their own experiences with nature and the healing power it holds. The song becomes a heartfelt tribute to a space where harmony exists, encouraging a deeper connection with the environment and an acknowledgment of the peace it imparts on the soul.
