Lillix Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I'm never goin' run
I'm never goin' live
I'm never goin' hide
Ohhh

Ill wait for you hoping that day will come
Ill wait for you until it feels like forever
And that time was spend on and wishing that you were here
And I hope someday forever won't be so far away

But right now
24/7
Ill wait
24/7

For you
24/7
I know
24/4

You'll be here
Woo who
You'll be here

Sometimes I feel that your not so far away (your not far away)
This might be true
Delusion had my side
And I I know that visual isn't everything (visual isn't everything)
And I hope someday forever won't be far away

But right now
24/7
Ill wait
24/7
For you
24/7
I know
24/4

But here I feel it in the air
Don't know the feeling so give me a sign
I don't know
You don't care
Tell me if someones there
If you're for real
Then just get out of my mind

Oh now I see you right in front of me
My voice was locked
And I know you had to keep
There on ice stuck in
Romance come and gone
Well I'm here alone
Watching you walk on (walk on)

24/7
Ill wait
24/7
For you
24/7
I know
24/4

24/7
I'm never goin' run
I'm never goin' live

[Repeat: x2]
I'm never goin' hide

Ohh

24/7
27/7
Ohh
24/7

I'll wait
24/7
I know
24/7
24/4

I'll wait
24/7
For you

24/7
I know

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Lillix's song "24/7" speak to the theme of unrequited love and the feeling of waiting endlessly for someone who may or may not reciprocate those feelings. The first verse sets the tone for the rest of the song, with the singer proclaiming that she'll never run, live or hide from her feelings. She then goes on to say that she'll wait for this person that she loves, even if it takes forever. The second verse acknowledges the possibility that this person might not ever come back, but the singer still holds out hope that one day they will be reunited.

The chorus repeats the phrase "24/7," emphasizing the constant nature of the singer's feelings and the amount of time she's willing to wait for this person. The bridge expresses the confusion and frustration that comes with unrequited love, as the singer wonders if the person even cares, and asks for a sign or confirmation that their feelings are reciprocated. The final verse describes a moment when the singer finally sees the person she's been waiting for, but is struck dumb and unable to express her feelings. The song ends with the repetition of the "24/7" phrase, reinforcing the idea that the singer's love is unwavering and ongoing.

Wonderful song. The whole band sounds great, and the lead vocal is awesome — so much range! Definitely my favorite track from “Falling Uphill.”

When I heard the “Falling Uphill” album, while the first single, “It’s About Time,” was climbing the charts, I just KNEW this would be a single. It had “hit” written all over it. I was disappointed when that didn’t happen, and I still wonder why the band’s record label, Maverick, didn’t release it as a single with a video.
