A free Monday night
Two broken hearts
Moscow mules with lime
As I hide my smile
A couple downtown bars
A few Marlborough reds
A long drive to yours
How do I go back?
You said you could hear
My mind running
A mile a minute
Along with my racing heartbeat
I can't help it
You said you could feel it
Ripping through
My chest right into
Your hands, it's beautiful
But it'll leave me blue
This time
Are you gonna leave me two-timed?
Make me wish that I hit the rewind
Three times I'd go back to this night
Again
As many times as I can
This time
Two times
Three times
I wanna feel it all again
This time
Two times
I'll try
As many times as I can
Woke up in your bed
To the sound of alarms
Oh, how tables turned
Wrapped in your arms
It only gets more fun
Pack my bag and dress up
You get the car and we roll
Windows down, volume up
Oh, I won't let this go
I already know
You said you could hear
My mind running
A mile a minute
Along with my racing heartbeat
I can't help it
You said you could feel it
Ripping through
My chest right into
Your hands, it's beautiful
But it'll leave me blue
This time
Are you gonna leave me two-timed?
Make me wish that I hit the rewind
Three times I'd go back to this night
Again
As many times as I can
This time
Two times
Three times
I wanna feel it all again
This time
Two times
I'll try
As many times as it's...
Convenient for you and me
I know, we work together and we're busy people
You live in Stoneham and I live in Brighton, which is pretty far
But anyway, give me a call at 857-20... What the... You know my number
Are we just a one time thing?
Or maybe a few month fling?
You leave me with nothing but hoping
That you will remember
This time
Are you gonna leave me two-timed?
Make me wish that I hit the rewind
Three times I'd go back to this night
Again
As many times as I can
This time
Two times
Three times
I wanna feel it all again
This time
Two times
I'll try
As many times as I can
This time
Are you gonna leave me two-timed?
Make me wish that I hit the rewind
Three times I'd go back to this night
Again
As many times as I can
This time
Two times
Three times
I wanna feel it all again
This time
Two times
I'll try
As many times as I can
The lyrics of Lina's song This Time describe a chance encounter between two people who spend a night together and cannot stop thinking about each other afterward. The song's protagonist recounts their experience from start to finish, from the moment they get a spontaneous call to the night they spend together and ultimately waking up together. Throughout the song, the singer's emotions are evident as they try to reconcile their desire to relive the night with the fear of being hurt again. The song's title, "This Time," reflects both their longing to experience the night again and their uncertainty about whether it will lead to anything more.
The song's lyrics are full of vivid imagery, from the Moscow mules with lime to the couple downtown bars, and the Marlborough reds smoked along the way. The lyrics paint a picture of two people caught up in the moment, unwilling to let it slip away. The lyrics also capture the uncertainty of the situation, with the singer wondering whether their encounter was a one-time thing or the beginning of something more significant. The song's emotional depth is heightened by the repetition of the chorus, which underscores the singer's desire to relive the night as many times as possible.
