Seaside Woman
Linda McCartney Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Oh, Papa catch the fish
From the bottom of the sea
Mama fixes net
She keeps an eye on me
Dainty little Mama
Smile all day
Cook your sweet potato
At night she lay lay
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Ride grey mule
To market place each day
Sells her beads
And baskets
For seashell pay
Dainty little Mama
Smile all day
Papa loves you Mama
And he say-say
Oh, Seaside Woman
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Oh, Seaside Woman
(All right
Snap it on Denny)
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Yeah
(Turn around)
(I don't wanna walk
I don't wanna talk
I just wanna be with you)
Oh, Papa catch the fish
From the bottom of the sea
Mama fixes net
She keeps an eye on me
Dainty little Mama
Smile all day
Papa love you Mama
At night he lay-lay
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Oh, Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Seaside Woman
Yeah

Basically Susie and the red stripes is the name of the cartoon, and the song used for the cartoon is by Linda McCartney and Wings.

It's similar to the music video of Can You Feel It by the Jacksons, so if you were to watch that music video. It begins with a title opening, that says the Jacksons presents the triumph.

So just like this music video, the other one by the Jacksons the movie short that I believe was Michael Jackson's idea. Looks like a complete movie short, that is supposed to be entitled the triumph. But when you watch the movie short itself, you hear the song Can you feel it.

So for myself and some fans of the Jackson brothers, we can prefer to it as the Triumph: Can You Feel It music video movie. Or can you feel it: the triumph music video movie.

So for this cartoon and music video, we can call it Seaside woman: Suzy and the red stripes by Linda McCartney and Wings. Or Suzy and the red stripes: Seaside Woman by Linda McCartney and Wings 👍😉❤

Now as we all know, cartoons with characters that feature blackface is now considered as racist and controversial. That I remember from Bugs Bunny cartoons and some other Looney Tunes cartoons. There was even a few Tom and Jerry cartoons, that also featured black face.

And of course we all know the black matters lives movement, I hope that they won't attack this music video.

Because I see nothing wrong on this cartoon music video, I've seen this music video before and I thought it was really cute. A little weird but still an interesting cartoon and a cute cartoon, along with a interesting song that Linda McCartney and Wings.

I don't want anybody to attack this music video and say it's racist, because there is nothing wrong with this cartoon and music video.

And it's supposed to take place in Jamaica, I even found out that the song Seaside Woman by Linda McCartney and Wings was inspired by reggae music.

It was one day when Paul McCartney and Linda took their two daughters on vacation to Jamaica, I believe the kids enjoyed the atmosphere of Jamaica. And at the same time having fun together as a family, but for Linda herself she said going to Jamaica felt like the 1950s to her. I believe she meant like she went to a beach somewhere in Jamaica, with palm trees as if it was like 1950s Southern California beach.

And at the same time she heard reggae music from the radio as they were at Jamaica, I believe she also thought the music was almost like music from the 1950s as well.

Anyway because I remembered Linda McCartney described all of that from one of her interviews, and I definitely believe that she fell in love with reggae music. And at the same time her husband Paul McCartney was about to start a band, and also make a new album along with his wife. And of course that album became the ram album, and of course Paul starting up a new band which would later become wings.

However what Paul didn't know at first, as the whole family was at Jamaica. Linda because she started loving everything and feeling the atmosphere of everything and the culture of Jamaica, she was trying to write a song while they were at Jamaica and when they went back home later after that.

So it wouldn't be until Wings was finally formed, and Paul let his wife Linda to do the song along with the band. I believe that was some point in 1972, when the red rose Speedway album was being made. I also do believe that after when they finish the song, Paul and Linda decided that they wanted the song to be featured in a music video. And they had the idea to have the music video as a cartoon short, I do believe the cartoon and the song Seaside woman put together have to be to produce at some point during 1972 or 1973.

However it wouldn't be until the music video cartoon would be released years later until 1977 or 1978. Maybe they did that, because in the early 70s when Wings was first beginning, there was massive and severe criticism in the UK not using the band for censorship, although they did in a few songs that the band did. But the truth is, British critics criticize severely on the relationship between Paul McCartney and Linda.

Some critics said what's he doing with his old lady up there, Linda can't sing. Linda can't really play keyboards or piano. Massive severe criticism that were targeted between Paul and Linda, but more on Linda. Because she did admit to a few British reporters, that she was still learning to play keyboards and piano.

Still to this day, those British critics trying to put down Linda and almost all of the band of wings makes me stick and really angry. Because it was Paul's idea at first wanting to have his own wife in the band, singing High Harmony backup vocals. But all in all they loved each other, and they really had a good relationship for a big musical career.

So I guess they had to wait if the criticism would die down, and if they wouldn't get criticized in America, Canada and a few other countries around the world as they went on tour. But until the mid-seventies of 1975 and 1976, the whole entire world got to know Wings after their album Band on the Run went platinum. And the album became number one as well, two more other albums came out and went on Platinum as well Venus and Mars and wings at the speed of sound. And during those times, Wings toward Australia and America as well as a few times in the UK again.

And then until 1977 or 1978 this cartoon music video was finally released, and the world got to hear Linda McCartney's singing voice. With a interesting, a little weird but cute animation short. I definitely believe that this animated music video was originally produced at some point in the early 70s, and was finally released until the late 70s. Because there was no more criticism against Linda McCartney.

But the truth is I really don't want this animated music video to get criticized either, because if everybody starts to say this animated music video is racist. boy I can tell you I will be really mad, and of course I don't want this animated music video to be banned from TV or the internet.

Because Linda and Paul McCartney worked so hard on this animated music video, I really appreciate it like a special present 🎁 from the band wings. as if it was like a birthday present or a Christmas present. And because I think about that, I definitely do not want to lose this animated music video from both TV and the internet.

Because this animated music video is really like a present from Linda McCartney and Wings, and I grew up with it since I was little. And with my loyalty and honesty, I really appreciate this animated music video. And also as part of the collection of the other music videos by wings, I love the band, I have a collection of all of their albums on CD. I have the rockshow concert DVD, I hope to collect some of the other live DVDs of wings. And at the same time, I'm looking for some music videos on YouTube and put them all together including this animated music video.

And above all I hope all of the Wings music videos including this animated music video will be put together on DVD.👍😉🙏

This animated music video is a masterpiece, and it pays tribute to Linda McCartney and the rock band wings. Because the band doesn't exist anymore, and Linda is long gone since 1992.💔😢

I hope this animated music video won't get severely criticized, and if it ever does we fans of the rock band wings along with Paul and Linda McCartney. We would have to fight back against if criticism happens against this video and cartoon, so we can protect this animated music video. And show some appreciation, royalty and honesty and even kindness and support, so we can show everybody that we are huge fans of this animated music video. Because there's nothing wrong with it it is a masterpiece, and it really pays tribute to Linda McCartney and the rock band wings. And the vision come to life in animatio visualized by Linda and Paul McCartney ❤

@Cornholio you don't understand I'm just worried, about some people nowadays. Especially the black community, after the death of George Lloyd the black lives matter movement came along, unless you can know there is no escape from it nowadays.

And I didn't even talk about politics, I just mentioned the black lives matter movement.

And of course yeah all of the characters from this animated music video is not black face, they are just characters that represent the people from Jamaica. Which this music video and the song written by Linda McCartney herself was inspired by.

I am just saying that, this music video came out in 1977 or 1978, and of course. The song and I believe this video is popular with all of the fans of the rock band wings, especially Paul McCartney and Linda.

And as you know movies, cartoons, shows you name it. That had featured blackface before, nowadays it's completely banned from TV, theatricality and shows. Because the black community says that there is racism with that style, and they even claim that white people and some others are trying to make fun of the black community. With the use of blackface, and basically I just can't escape from that.

And now with the movement of black lives matter, they're trying to force a lot of people and businesses to change almost everything. So it won't be racial as they claim, like they severely criticized on the Aunt Jemima syrup brand, I even found out they severely criticized on mrs. Better words.

I even found out that some TV stations and TV networks are Banning a Hollywood classic Gone with the Wind, because there is one scene from the movie. That the black community had criticize on being very racial.

And as you know Disney had to take out one character from one of the animated segments of Fantasia, and of course the most famous Disney movie that was a classic from before. Disney is now trying to erase Song of the South.

I mean think about it the black community is trying to tell people, and even businesses that they need to erase things that they consider as racial. And they even criticized, on something that they think are making fun of the black community. And let me tell you this is crazy.

And really because of all of this, and because of the black lives matter movement. I am really worried if they'll my criticize and attack this animated music video of Linda McCartney and Wings Seaside woman, AKA Suzy and the red stripes Seaside Woman animated music video.

Because like I said before I really love this animated music video, even though it may be a little weird. But just like all of the hardcore Wings fans, I really enjoy this music video. And I also thought the animated little girl is cute.

I just don't want anyone from the black community or even the black lives matter movement to attack this animated music video, because if they do. Let me tell you I would not like it whatsoever, if they would try to Tamper on this music video. Because like I said this music video is a masterpiece, it's a tribute to Jamaica and there reggae music. And this music video is also a tribute to Linda McCartney as well.👍😉

I just don't want anyone from the black community or even the black lives matter movement to criticize about this music video, and if they try to have people to ban this music video. That is not right at all, cuz like I said this music video is a tribute to the people and culture of Jamaica, the reggae music and of course Linda McCartney. Because Linda loved the people, she loved the music and she loved the atmosphere and culture of Jamaica as she claimed of one of her interviews.

So now I hope you understand what I'm trying to say, because I am extremely worried if this music video will ever get criticized. And if this music video will be under attack by who knows how many people from the black community and the black lives matter movement, and that they would want this music video to be banned from TV and even the internet.

I'm very worried about that, and I just hope it won't happen. I hope this music video will not be under attack and severely criticized. Because if that ever happens I would be devastated

There’s a message behind this charming little film, I think. That message is; being poor or having a simple life doesn’t mean you are unhappy or unloved.
