1. The Scottish artist Joe McAlinden, formerly of BMX Bandits and the creative force behind the indie band Superstar is now using the name "Linden". The album "Bleached Highlights" was released in July 2012.
2. A producer from Belfast currently living in Dundee who has just released an EP on Nerve Recordings - his myspace is http://www.myspace.com/dalinden - the Ep is called "The Hidden EP" and is released through Nerve Recordings (http://www.myspace.com/nerverecordings) with tracks "Hidden", "7 Breaths", "Tuva" and "Crunch"
3. A band from Menomonie, WI, fronted by Kara and Cassi Carlson that plays an infectious brand of pop-rock. Their line up at present consists of the aforementioned sisters on vocals, and keys/backing vocals respectively, Steven Keller on Bass, Aaron on guitar, and Billy on Drums. Their debut EP "The Future Is..." has garnered great reviews from local press, although, thanks to their myspace and purevolume presence, they have a fanbase that is spread internationally. In Linden's song Shout Out, the singer is asking the person they're addressing to open up to them, to share what's on their mind and let their feelings be known. The first verse starts with the singer saying that they want both of them to live their lives, but they need to know what lies behind the other person, what they are going through. The singer is trying to connect with the person, but they feel that in some way there is a distance between them, which makes them curious.
In the chorus, the singer tells the person to make a sound, to shout out loud and let their feelings be known. The singer wants the person to know that they're not alone and that they're there for them. They then ask them to be honest and tell them if they have outgrown them, and if not, to just open up.
In the second verse, the singer asks to open their heart and be honest with each other. They say that they do not want to tie or bind the other person, and that they're not trying to pry but want them to be sure that they want to try. The singer asks whether honesty is not their style, and if it's not, they will be gone in just a little while. They then say that if the other person is not interested in what they are proposing, they will still miss them.
