Blue Bird
Lindi Ortega Lyrics

I'd sit on the shoulders of people in pain
I'd sing a tune for the lonely and sad
Just to remind them that life aint so bad
If I were a blue bird
I'd sing a song
If I were a blue bird
But I'm not a blue bird
I'm sorry to say
Oh I'm gonna sing songs to you anyway
If I were a blue bird, I'd sing when I fly
All though the tree tops and across the sky
I'd sing to the ocean, I'd sing to the sun
Just so I'd teach the songs that I've sung
If I were a blue bird
I'd sing a song
If I were a blue bird
You'd sing along
But I'm not a blue bird
I'm sorry to say
Oh I'm gonna sing songs to you anyway
If I were a blue bird
I'd sing a song
If I were a blue bird
You'd sing along
But I'm not a blue bird
I'm sorry to say
Oh I'm gonna sing songs to you anyway
No I'm not a blue bird
I'm sorry to say
Oh I'm gonna sing songs to you anyway
In Lindi Ortega's song Blue Bird, the lyrics express a longing to live a carefree life as a bird that can sing all day long. The metaphor of the bird is used to represent the freedom that the singer wishes for, as a bird's song can be heard from a distance without any barriers. The lyrics suggest that the blue bird would sing for people who are in pain and feeling lonely to remind them that life is not all bad. The message is clear, that there is always hope even in the darkest of times, and that the blue bird would bring that hope and happiness.
The repetitive lyrics in the chorus, "If I were a blue bird, I'd sing a song, If I were a blue bird, you'd sing along" emphasizes the idea that music is universal and can bring people together, regardless of their circumstances. The singer acknowledges that she is not a blue bird, but is still determined to sing songs anyway. This signifies that although the singer may not be able to change her current situation, she can still bring joy and comfort to others through her music.
Overall, Blue Bird is a song about finding hope and comfort in times of despair, and the importance of music in uplifting us during our darkest moments.
