2) a Black Metal band from Volgograd, Russia;
3) a Pagan/Folk Black Metal from Solingen, Germany;
1) Lindisfarne were an English folk-rock group from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, formed in 1968. The original line up was Alan Hull, Ray Jackson, Ray Laidlaw, Rod Clements, and Simon Cowe.
The group released their debut Nicely out of Tune in 1970. Their second album, Fog on the Tyne, was produced by Bob Johnson, who had also worked with Bob Dylan, to whom Alan Hull was being compared at the time. Following their third album, Dingly Dell, the group split and Lindisfarne (Mark II) continued with new members, and produced a few more albums before disbanding in 1975, seemingly for good.
1978 saw the original group re-form, with the album Back and Fourth, and the hit single "Run for Home". This line-up continued for many years. New member Marty Craggs came in for the 1986 album Dance Your Life Away. Ray 'Jacka' Jackson eventualy left to work in London, and then Si Cowe left to run a brewery in Canada. Jackson now (2008) has a career as an artist, specialising in colourful paintings of buses, a passion since he was a boy. He also played the mandolin on Rod Stewart's "Maggie May".
The group celebrated their twenty-fifth anniversary of performing at Newcastle City Hall in the summer of 1995. Less than six months later Hull died of a heart attack. There was a period of consolidation for the group, which decided to continue - going back to their folk roots, and new members Billy Mitchell, Dave Denholm and Ian Thompson. This line up continued for several years until the departure of Marty Craggs. After this the three remaining members continued to tour as an acoustic trio before calling it a day with a final gig on 17th May 2004.

The lyrics to Lindisfarne's song Start Again speak of a troubled relationship between two people, possibly a friendship or a romantic partnership. The opening lines acknowledge that the singer has not been perfect in the relationship and recognizes that the other person has had to hold the relationship together at times. The singer acknowledges that the ups and downs are a natural part of any relationship, and that the good times cannot exist without the bad.

Yes i love Lindisfarne, much later in my life long after id left my 1st husband, i met Alan Hull lead singer of Lindisfarne as he was a pal of my best friends new boyfriend.( now her husband)
We all used to go to a pub called the Maggie Bank ( real name was The Magnesia Bank ) in North Shields where the various members of Lindisfarne would be there often doing impromptu jam sessions on Sunday afternoons or Saturdays too
I also worked with Peter McIntyre who was in a great duo called Maxi & Mitch now Peter or Maxi sings & Plays with Lindisfarne
Another 2 favourite songs from them was Lady Elinore & The Fog on The Tyne

There i was, sitting all alone on my honeymoon while my new hubby was propping up the bar, slewed out of his head & i realised id made a terrible mistake , as tears started to brim over in my eyes, this song came on th jukebox & being a geordie born & raised & being a long long way fr home i just fell apart, then wth th strength fr this song & my proud fighting geordie blood, i left that place, packed my bags,flew back to UK, jumped on th next train to Newcastle, & its so true what they say as u cross over th river Tyne, u can breathe again & yes, weep. I did ths journey non stop the whole way till i was home AND no regrets, that was 40 yrs ago !

I came across a Geordie girl in a disco once crying her eyes out to this because she was homesick. I threw her a spare crash helmet and said two hours and you'll be there and I'll bring you back in a couple of days. She gave me a look I'll never forget and said give me half an hour and I'll be ready. Made it in an hour and a half. She was astonished I went straight to her street, till I pointed up the road and said that used to be my gran's house. Small world, but a long time ago.
