Shatter Me
Lindsey Stirling Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I pirouette in the dark
I see the stars through me
Tired mechanical heart
Beats til the song disappears

Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!

Shatter me!
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!

If only the clockworks could speak
I wouldn't be so alone
We burn every magnet and spring
And spiral into the unknown

Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!

Shatter me!
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!

If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly
There's no one to catch me if I take a dive
I'm scared of changing, the days stay the same
The world is spinning but only in gray
If I break the glass, then I'll have to fly
There's no one to catch me if I take a dive
I'm scared of changing, the days stay the same
The world is spinning but only in gray
(Only)

Somebody shine a light
I'm frozen by the fear in me
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me
So cut me from the line
Dizzy, spinning endlessly
Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!
Shatter me!

Somebody make me feel alive
And shatter me!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Lindsey Stirling feat. Lzzy Hale's song "Shatter Me" tell the story of someone who feels trapped and stuck in their life. They feel like a machine that is going through the motions, and they are desperate to break free and feel alive. The imagery of pirouetting in the dark and seeing stars through themselves suggests a sense of emptiness and being disconnected from the world.

The repeated plea throughout the song is for somebody to shatter them, to break them out of their frozen state and make them feel alive again. The line "If only the clockworks could speak, I wouldn't be so alone" implies that the singer feels like they are a machine in need of repair, and that they crave human connection and emotion. The references to breaking glass and taking a dive suggest that the singer is afraid of change and the unknown, but they also understand that breaking out of their current situation may be the only way to truly live.

Overall, "Shatter Me" is a powerful metaphor for the human desire to break free from the constraints of society, routine, and fear, and to fly away into a more fulfilling existence.

As a male, this song hits close to my heart. It’s a powerful and emotional collaboration between Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale, two amazing artists who have overcome their own struggles and fears. The song is about breaking free from the constraints that hold us back, whether they are internal or external, and finding our true selves.

The music video is stunning and captivating. It shows Lindsey as a ballerina trapped inside a snow globe, representing her feelings of isolation and helplessness. She dances with grace and passion, but she can’t escape her prison. Lzzy is the voice of her inner strength, urging her to shatter the glass that separates her from the world. She sings with a raw and powerful voice that contrasts with Lindsey’s delicate violin.

The song has a beautiful melody that builds up to an explosive chorus. The violin and the guitar blend together perfectly, creating a dynamic and energetic sound that matches the lyrics. The song also has some dubstep elements that add to the intensity and drama of the story.

The song is more than just a catchy tune. It’s a message of hope and courage for anyone who feels trapped or broken by their circumstances. It’s an anthem for those who want to shatter their limits and live their dreams. It’s an inspiration for those who want to feel alive.

I love this song so much that I can’t stop listening to it. It makes me feel empowered and motivated to overcome my own fears and challenges. It makes me appreciate the talent and resilience of Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale, who have both faced adversity in their lives but never gave up on their passion for music.

This song deserves more recognition and praise for its artistic quality and emotional impact. It’s one of the best songs I’ve ever heard in my life. #ShatterMe #LindseyStirling #LzzyHale #BestSongEver #MusicIsLife

I started playing the violin a year ago. I had been wanting to start playing ever since I first heard this song. The violin wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be, and I struggled with many things (such as getting my bow straight, intonation, timing, and many other things), but I didn’t want to quit. I kept listening to Lindsey Stirling’s songs to give me motivation, so that I wouldn’t even think about stopping. The only way people can achieve great things is if they work for it.

Currently, I am in the Honors Orchestra at my school. That is the highest orchestra you can be in- and just as I thought when I first started- it wasn’t going to be easy.

Just two months ago, I was really having a hard time with orchestra. My grade was lowering, and I didn’t even feel like playing. The transition between beginner orchestra and Honors orchestra was a HUGE ONE. I felt like I was lower than the rest of my classmates because they had more playing experience than I did.

...then I found this song again. After listening to this, I felt that spark of motivation I had when I started. I knew I had to push myself and go past my limits to be like everyone else.

I know that this sounds like a pretty fake story, but it’s 100% real. In a month, my orchestra is going to head to a few other schools to play.

Either way, I really enjoy this song and it left a huge impact on my heart. Thank you, Lindsey!

❤️
