Electricity
Lingerbliss Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴

How many nights
Do I have to stay awake
Lighting candles
'cause you aren't here?

My old scrapbook
Lays fatally wounded
With no words in the veins,

How many nights
Do I have to wait
To end up with your silence
And make you come out again?

And shine...for me
You, Electricity.

Swings like a pendulum
Inside, by now
Energy ran out.

She is the whimsical type
She is back tonight
She is welcome
At any time,

May not come when I ask for
But can

come when she wants
She is the one who sets me free.

The song Electricity by Lingerbliss is a song about missing someone in a relationship. The singer is constantly waiting and staying up at night, hoping for the other person's return. The lyrics "How many nights do I have to wait to end up with your silence and make you come out again" suggest that the singer is trying to reach out to their partner, hoping for them to communicate and come back to them. The mention of "lighting candles" suggests a sense of romanticism and longing for the other person.

The lyrics "My old scrapbook lays fatally wounded, with no words in the veins" suggest a sense of loss and emptiness from the absence of the other person. The singer may have tried to look back at their memories or writings about their past relationship, but it is no longer fulfilling without the involvement of their partner. The chorus "And shine...for me, you, Electricity" is a metaphor of the partner being the light and spark that brings life and energy to the singer, just like electricity.

In the second verse, the lyrics "Swings like a pendulum inside, by now energy ran out" suggest the singer's emotional state, in which they are constantly fluctuating between missing their partner and feeling drained from waiting. The last lines "She is the one who sets me free" suggest that the partner's return or presence is what brings the singer a sense of freedom and happiness.

Banda de alto vuelo!!! Voz dulce y angelical, poseída y tele-transportada con su música.
