I'll Be Gone
Linkin Park怀 Lyrics

Stars are slipping down, glistening
And I'm trying not to think what I'm leaving now
No deceiving now, it's time you let me know
Let me know
When the lights go out and we open our eyes,
Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone
Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone
This in between us is getting thinner now
Into winter now, bitter sweet
Across that horizon this sun is setting down
You're forgetting now, it's time you let me go, let me go
When the lights go out and we open our eyes,
Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone
Let the sun fade out and another one rise
Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone
And tell them I couldn't help myself
And tell them I was alone
Oh, tell me I am the only one
And there's nothing left to stop me
When the lights go out and we open our eyes,
Out there in the silence, I'll be gone, I'll be gone
Let the sun fade out and another one rise
Climbing through tomorrow, I'll be gone, I'll be gone
I'll be gone (I'll be gone)
The song "I'll Be Gone" by Linkin Park is a melancholic and reflective piece that explores the themes of letting go and moving on. The first verse sets the tone for the song with the metaphor "shining oil" representing the passage of time and the inevitability of change. The stars slipping down and glistening represent the passing of life's moments and experiences, which can be both beautiful and painful at the same time. The singer is trying not to think about what he is leaving behind, acknowledging that it is time for him to go and for his loved one to let him know it's time to move on.
The chorus reinforces the idea of departure, with the singer acknowledging that when the lights go out, he will be gone. The imagery of the sun fading out and another rising represents life's continual cycle of beginnings and endings. The second verse focuses on the emotional distance that has grown between the singer and his loved one, with the middle ground dwindling as the winter approaches. The singer is bitter-sweet about the end of their relationship, acknowledging that it's time for his loved one to let him go.
The bridge is a moment of raw vulnerability, with the singer pleading for his loved one to confirm that he was the only one and that nothing could have stopped him from leaving. The final chorus provides closure, with the singer repeating that he will be gone, driving home the message that leaving is inevitable.
Overall, "I'll Be Gone" is a poignant and introspective song that captures the universal themes of loss, grief, and acceptance. It serves as a poignant reminder that sometimes, the hardest thing we have to do is let go and move on.

My roommate cut his neck in October and I couldn't do anything.. nothing.. he wouldn't open the door. I always heard this song, a week before his funeral it came on the radio, I always associated it with him and then it was his funeral song. The crime scene cleaners took a large picture of Chester out of his room. I miss you so much Manuel, I'm so sorry. I think you judged me to be stronger than I am

When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - Heart Of A City Boy” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you 💕
