Formed in 1996, Linkin Park rose to international fame with their debut studio album, Hybrid Theory (2000), which became certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). Released during the peak of the nu metal scene, the album's singles' heavy airplay on MTV led the singles "One Step Closer", "Crawling" and "In the End" all to chart highly on the US Mainstream Rock chart. The lattermost also crossed over to the nation's Billboard Hot 100. Their second album, Meteora (2003), continued the band's success. The band explored experimental sounds on their third album, Minutes to Midnight (2007). By the end of the decade, Linkin Park was among the most successful and popular rock acts.
The band continued to explore a wider variation of musical types on their fourth album, A Thousand Suns (2010), layering their music with more electronic sounds. The band's fifth album, Living Things (2012), combined musical elements from all of their previous records. Their sixth album, The Hunting Party (2014), returned to a heavier rock sound, and their seventh album, One More Light (2017), was a substantially more pop-oriented record. Linkin Park went on a hiatus when longtime lead vocalist Bennington died in July 2017. In April 2022, Shinoda revealed the band was neither working on new music nor planning on touring for the foreseeable future.
Linkin Park is among the best-selling bands of the 21st century and the world's best-selling music artists, having sold over 100 million records worldwide. They have won two Grammy Awards, six American Music Awards, two Billboard Music Awards, four MTV Video Music Awards, 10 MTV Europe Music Awards and three World Music Awards. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth-greatest band of the music video era and the third-best of the new millennium. Billboard ranked Linkin Park No. 19 on the Best Artists of the Decade list. In 2012, the band was voted as the greatest artist of the 2000s in a Bracket Madness poll on VH1. In 2014, the band was declared as "The Biggest Rock Band in the World Right Now" by Kerrang!.

Uh-huh uh-huh, jigga who
Uh-huh uh-huh, jigga what
Uh-huh uh-huh, jigga who
Uh-huh uh-huh, jigga what
You gon' need a vocalin right?
Yeah
Numerous shots with the fo'-fo'
Faggots wanna talk to Po-Po's, smoke 'em like cocoa
Fuck rap, coke by the boatload
Fuck that, on the run-by, gun high, one eye closed
Left holes through some guy clothes
Stop your bullshittin, Glock with the full clip
Motherfuckers better duck when the fool spit
One shot could make a nigga do a full flip
See the nigga laying shocked when the fool hit
Hey ma, how you, know niggas wanna buy you
But see me I wanna "Fuck for Free" like Akinyele
Take this ride, make you feel it inside your belly
If it's tight get the K-Y Jelly
All night get you wide up inside the telly
Side to side, til you say Jay-Z you're too much for me
I am, a little bit of loneliness, a little bit of disregard
Handful of complaints but I can't help the fact
That everybody can see these scars
I am, what I want you to want, what I want you to feel
But it's like no matter what I do, I can't convince you
To just believe this is real
So I, let go, watching you, turn your back like you always do
Face away and pretend that I'm not
But I'll be here cause you're all that I've got
Got a condo with nothin' but condoms in it
The same place where the rhymes is invented
So all I do is rap and sex, imagine how I stroke
See how I was flowin' on my last cassette?
Rapid-fire like I'm blastin' a Tec, never jam though
Never get high, never run out of ammo
Niggas hatin' the shit cause I slayed your bitch
You know your favorite, I know it made you sick
And now you're, actin raw but you never had war
Don't know how to carry your hoes, wanna marry your ho
Now she's mad at me cause Your Majesty
Just happened to be a pimp, what a tragedy
She wanted, us to end, cause I fucked with friends
She gave me one more chance and I fucked her again
I seen her tears as she busted in, I said, "Shit
There's a draft, shut the door bitch and come on in!"
I am, a little bit insecure, a little unconfident
Cause you don't understand I do what I can
Sometimes I don't make sense
I am, what you never wanna say, but I've never had a doubt
It's like no matter what I do I can't convince you for once just to hear me out
So I, let go, watching you, turn your back like you always do
You face away and pretend that I'm not
I'll be here cause you're all that I've got
I can't feel, the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal, this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Now, hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me like it or not
Right now, hear me out now
You're gonna listen to me like it or not
Right now
I can't feel, the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
I can't feel, the way I did before
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't heal, this damage anymore
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
I can't feel
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Time won't tell
Don't turn your back on me
I won't be ignored
Linkin Park and Jay Z's song "Faint" expresses frustration towards those who do not recognize an individual's worth despite their best efforts. The song emphasizes the internal struggle of feeling insecure and disregarded, yet remaining resilient in the face of rejection. The repetitive use of "jigga what" and "jigga who" is a signature of Jay Z's musical style and serves to portray his rebellious and hard-hitting persona.
The song opens with a verse from Jay Z, where he figuratively attacks those who act reckless and then talks about his disdain for the music industry in general. He mentions that he can make a person stumble with just one bullet shot from his gun, indicating his power and desire for control. Jay Z then transitions to a more sexual verse, describing his seduction tactics and prowess with women.
The chorus, sung by Linkin Park's lead vocalist Chester Bennington, is an expression of frustration and vulnerability. Bennington sings about feeling disregarded despite his efforts and encouragement to believe in oneself. He pleads for the listener to acknowledge his value and not turn away from him.
In the second verse, Jay Z again emphasizes his dominance and influence over women. He also mentions his rivalry with other artists, indicating that his success and fame have made many people jealous of him. The verse ends with him mocking a woman he has slept with, indicating his lack of respect and defining her as one of his conquests.
The song ends with a powerful bridge and outro, where Chester Bennington repeats the line "I can't feel the way I did before, don't turn your back on me, I won't be ignored." This serves as an affirmation of his resilience and determination to not let others bring him down.

Beau!!!

I don't think people realize how revolutionary this was. This wasn't a one off collab or mashup. They managed to produce a whole album and recreated all these songs perfectly flowing the hit songs from both jay-z and Linkin park
@lakeshoresubtleties
Right. I was actually maybe a little young and naive to hip-hop to fully appreciate it, being in my late teens in very white america.
@midnightcoil
Run DMC started it with Aerosmith that was $7,000 times more revolutionary
@bossman9579
@Midnight Coil Dang, thought they just did a song or two. Didn't realize they did a whole concert as well. Good to know.
@nick-ce1yb
Agreed this is a top 5 performance. Blending genres that "shouldn't go together" but we all lonely and want a voice no matter the music
@ukno918
they were fans of each other, so probably had a lot of ideas even before the collab
@edgarspavlovics3540
Mike Shinoda is such a multi-artist, it's unreal.
@MondySpartan
Have you listened to Already Over? Mike literally does everything in that song.
